knots I loved this book. However Camille reminded me of my favorite Mary Balogh heroine Lauren from A Summer to Remember. Both of them are so determined to be a perfect lady and do not show their emotions even under duress. Both both of them secretly want to be loved. But unfortunately others consider them cold and unlikeable. And both of them have been supplanted by someone who's not at all 'perfect'. In both the books the 'rival' so to speak is nice and would rather be friends.

Then there is the cousin/friend who is caught between loyalty to the two women.Gwen in the Summer seems to love both the women while Elizabeth in the Wescott series is firmly in Anna's camp.I find her very shallow and opportunistic. She switched to Anna's camp pretty much early and is nastier about Camille though she does not have any cause. She says something like "I don't believe anybody other than her immediate family likes Camille."

Tasha Ellis I'm a Mary Balogh fan. I liked Camille's character because of the depth of character throughout the first two books. Her change in the second one was more believable. She didn't become likeable overnight, but you could see the transformation at a more believable pace. Would love to read the other book mentioned and make the comparison.
