I was never a huge fan of this series but I did like this book. Although I felt a lot of things were kind of left unsettled. I also thought Maxon's father being killed made things a bit too easy on the ending. If his father hadn't died would Maxon have been able to stand up to him, marry America, and get rid of the castes?? I kind of don't think so. I liked both Maxon and Aspen so I didn't mind too much who she ended up with but in book two Aspen and America were really into each other and then in this book Aspen is all of a sudden into Lucy and America is over him. I also didn't fully understand all that rebel business. I was really shocked though when Celeste got shot!

I didn't really pay much attention to Aspen, but the way America suddenly lost feelings for him might be due to the fact that she's now fighting for Maxon. And like her sister said, she can't keep Aspen as a safety net. As for Aspen suddenly being interested in Lucy, I can't help but think Kiera did that just to give him a happy ending. Let's face it, we're probably never going to see more of this series again so Aspen being with Lucy at least leaves us with the idea that they both found someone amazing.
I agree with the Northern rebels! There's so much we still don't know about them! T_T I was really anticipating that visit to Italy, but then America's father died and so many things happened after that. But I guess that's part of what I liked the most about it: the action never stops.

The highly anticipated conclusion to Kiera Cass's #1 New York Times bestselling Selection series, The One will captivate readers who love dystopian YA fiction and fairy tales. The One is the perfect finale for fans who have followed America's whirlwind romance since it began--and a swoon-worthy read for teens who have devoured Veronica Roth's Divergent, Ally Condie's Matched, or Lauren Oliver's Delirium.
The Selection changed America Singer's life in ways she never could have imagined. Since she entered the competition to become the next princess of Illéa, America has struggled with her feelings for her first love, Aspen--and her growing attraction to Prince Maxon. Now she's made her choice . . . and she's prepared to fight for the future she wants.
Find out who America will choose in The One, the enchanting, beautifully romantic third book in the Selection series!
