History Is All You Left Me discussion

I seriously need a huge pick-me-up after the devastatingly incredible book that was History Is All You Left Me. I can not stress how much in love I am with this book. The characters, the flow of the story, the histories, the presents. Everything. And one of the most part that sticks to me (other than the ending and the first few chapters of course) was the part where Griffin listened to Theo's voicemail over and over again. And where Griffin measured the length of time with songs. For example, it'll take him 2 songs to get to where he wanted to go. So I thought, what if History Is All You Left Me has it's own soundtrack? And what are the songs that will be featured in them?

I can't shake off the feeling that Shawn Mendes's Never Be Alone is one of the perfect songs for this book. It's a song that Theo would give to Griffin (or Jackson). The lyrics especially suits the situation with Griffin (and Jackson) be it in the histories or in the presents. What do you guys think?

What are your opinions? And what other songs that is suitable to be this amazing book's soundtrack?

I can't help but think that Griffin would have listened to 'All I Want' by Kodaline after Theo died. Personally, I think of It's Ok by Tom Rosenthal when I think about this book.

Both of those songs are kinda sad, but this book made me sad lol

I totally adored this book. I loved Griffin and his pet peeves wherein he doesn't get settled when everything's not even. It totally made me laugh. I also loved all the characters and how it was told in Griffin's point-of-view. I can't get over this book and it gave me so much feels that it had to stay with me for a couple weeks--or shall I say, months. History Is All You Left Me really made me cry and it's rare for me to do so, like cry where tears flowed all over my face.

Paper houses by Niall Horan and In Case You Don’t live forever by Ben Platt fit this book so well. In case you don’t love forever because it reminds me of when Theo almost gets hit by a car and how worried griffin is (he even made Theo promise he’d never die).
