Mariab | 3059 comments Ok. I could flirt with Keanu Reeves. People say he is weird enough (I don't like it boring)

Kristie | 19173 comments Love it, Mariab! From what I understand, he's a good guy.

Kristie | 19173 comments I finished George George by Alex Gino for National Children’s Dental Health Month.

message 7: by Peg (new)

Peg For the National Children's Dental Health Month I just finished reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman . An extra 5 points for being a Newbery Award winner!

Who would I flirt with? Just not sure, I'm naturally a big flirt. I may just flirt extra special with my hubs this week. He's getting an impacted wisdom tooth removed and is going the route of sedation. Messing with his mind while he's medicated might just speed up his recovery!
If it has to be someone else, I guess I'll just say Alton Brown. Smart, funny and can cook!

message 8: by Lara (new)

Lara | 1426 comments For American Heart Month, I read Protected (Diablo Lake, #2) by Lauren Dane , which has werewolves.

message 9: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 246 comments Flirting eh? I'd probably prefer to flirt with Brad Pitt or Antonio Banderas ;)

message 10: by Annette (new)

Annette Olsen | 205 comments Flirting... so many choices. At the moment I would have a hard time choosing between Chris Pratt and Aiden Turner... but then why choose? I'd gladly flirt with both! ;)

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I saved my flirting until we started, in case Jmom was being a meanie.

David Tennant is my flirting person. Lexx and I have an agreement that whoever sees David Tennant first gets dibs :P

Lynn | 2974 comments Lame Duck Day – 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl by Mona Awad

Read a book with a rating of 3.5 or less on GR. Tell us if it was worth it.

Ugh, no it bloody wasn't. I hated it with a passion. 1 star rating for me.

message 20: by Kristie, Moderator (last edited Feb 19, 2017 06:29AM) (new)

Kristie | 19173 comments Oh, that's too bad, Lynn. At least you read a monthly themed book and got toppler points for it. Would have been worse if you had just read it for fun with no perks.

Updated.

message 21: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments Kristie wrote: "At least you read a monthly themed book and got toppler points for it. "

It's the only reason I kept going with it. It was bloody expensive too, just short of £10 for a kindle version!

message 22: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19173 comments Oh, yikes... I hate paying that much.

message 23: by Annette (last edited Feb 19, 2017 03:13PM) (new)

Annette Olsen | 205 comments Finished Cover Me in Darkness by Eileen Rendahl for "Get a Different Name Day" The main character is names Amanda Sinclair. I love that name. Sounds sophisticated to me. When I was a kid I loved the name Amanda.... or Cynthia.

message 24: by Lori Z (new)

Lori Z | 2089 comments I finished Caddie Woodlawn for Children's Dental Health month. It is a Newbery Award winner so 5 bonus points.

message 25: by Peg (new)

Peg Finished Doctor How and the Illegal Aliens (Doctor How, #1) by Mark Speed a little while ago and plan on finishing up the second book in that series later this evening. I'm not getting as much reading in as I had planned today, because you know, I planned!! Hoping my week falls into place a bit better!
Hope everyone else is getting in plenty of page turning!

message 26: by KimeyDiann (new)

KimeyDiann | 2174 comments I finished Secrets of a Pet Nanny: A Journey from the White House to the Dog House for the favorite pet category... whichever day/week that was for, I can't remember right now.

Ah well, early days yet. But agree I would focus on the bonus points categories as a strat.

message 33: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19173 comments Updated to here. :)

My migraine seems to have finally broken. Woot! I'll be finishing up a couple books today.

I was looking at the list and could definitely go for adding some bonus points for eating pizza while reading a food related book. lol I'll have to see what I have that fits, if it's not too long. Maybe I'll revisit that romance category too...yuck.

message 34: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 246 comments I finished The People of Forever Are Not Afraid by Shani Boianjiu - The People of Forever Are Not Afraid by Shani Boianjiu.

3 Bubble Gum Day – a book where someone does something that qualifies them for being too stupid to live (TSTL). (view spoiler)

message 35: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Hey you arses - remember to tell us a little about your flirting, like about their beautiful eyes, stupid lines - the book I just finished had some great ones (are you wearing a spacesuit? because your butt is out of this world), innuendos. And their response.

message 36: by Sam F (new)

Sam F | 246 comments Oooh I forgot about this. I just realized today I'd rather flirt with Jon Bon Jovi! He's performing in Toronto in April. I would love to send him a knowing smile and touch is arm, gaze into his eyes as I told him he's wanted dead or alive. So cheesy... :) Would be a better time than Pitt or Banderas.

Maybe cheesy, but I love it.

message 38: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19173 comments Hahaha! Perfect, Sam!!

Should I touch the Rock's arm and tell him he's solid, like a rock? Thank God he has a good sense of humor. I'm sure he'd still roll his eyes at that one, but he'd probably laugh too, or at least smirk.

message 39: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments American Pie from this verse:

"Did you write the book of love
And do you have faith in God above
If the Bible tells you so?
Now do you believe in rock and roll?
Can music save your mortal soul?
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?"

I love it! He has quite the arm :)

message 42: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments as to all my flirting (all 5 of 'em!) - you want seduction? Just make me laugh! All of them have done - not like the way that M. Trump makes me laugh - that's unkind.......Mind you, once I had a husband and he made me laugh in exactly the wrong way! (see Deborah's 2017 Declaration)

message 43: by Deborah (new)

Deborah Pickstone | 529 comments Kristie - that looks better! I've another American Pie in hand ans (bleurk!) two romances. Maybe I should find more APs?????

message 44: by Lynn (new)

Lynn | 2974 comments I'd be telling Benedict Cumberbatch that I felt a bit strange and needed him to investigate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KO8xJ...

message 45: by Kristie, Moderator (last edited Feb 20, 2017 05:31PM) (new)

Kristie | 19173 comments I kicked two additional arses today!

I finished The Funny Thing Is... The Funny Thing Is... by Ellen DeGeneres by Ellen DeGeneres. Unfortunately, she is not nearly as funny in her written work as she is in person and the book took me a while to get through.

I also finished Confessions of a Scary Mommy Confessions of a Scary Mommy An Honest and Irreverent Look at Motherhood The Good, The Bad, and the Scary by Jill Smokler . This was somewhat funny and relatable.

Both books were listed as humor for the National Pistachio Day task.

message 46: by Peg (new)

Peg I finished another for National Pistachio Day Doctor How and the Deadly Anemones Doctor How and the Deadly Anemones (Doctor How, #2) by Mark Speed and one more for National Children's Dental The Secret of NIMH The Secret of NIMH by Robert C. O'Brien . The Secret of Nimh is a Newbery Award Winner so bonus of 5 pts.

@Kristie, I don't know why my points dropped to 10. I should be at 60 with the 2 books I'm adding right now. And I guess I need to elaborate on my flirting? I'll get that later on. Let me know if I missed something else or you need any more from me. Thanks!

message 47: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19173 comments Sorry, Peg! I probably meant to add 10 and just changed it to 10. I had a migraine for the past 3 days (it's finally gone today!!) and I can't think when I have them. I'm going through to redo all my math now. Thanks for letting me know.

message 48: by Peg (new)

Peg Thanks. You're doing awesome, especially battling that migraine. Glad you're feeling better!

message 49: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19173 comments Thanks. :) Should be all set now. At least I had the total right. lol If anyone else (on the team!) sees any mistakes, just let me know.
