I think he is still stuck on Chapter 2 or 3:P:P

I didn't shed tears in this one. But I did cried in Lions, two times......

Do I have to write one? I am procrastinating on that. I might write it after I finish up with my exams. :D

Its your choice :)

I liked Lions better than this one :)

When will Sumit finish? We can't even discuss properly for fear of spoiling it for him. :(

Only he can answer that :)

Assassin's Apprentice
The Lies of Locke Lamora & perhaps
Tigana too.....

Vidya, Anirudh & me :P:P
@Sumit: you're invited too :)

But Fantasy sure is my weakness. ^__^
Sumit is invited but I'm not. *ROFC ROFC*

You've exams. After mid-September you're invited to every BR :):)

By the way, weren't we supposed to do a John Green buddy read? Have you forgotten? :(
I'll surely take part in them all! Gotta read 'em all! :P

So this/these someones are from GR?

One GR friend has asked me to read it but the threat has come from other quarters. :P

hahahaha........an easy way, watch the movie and tell them that you've read the book :P:P:P

I wanna join if there's John Green BR, especially if its Looking For Alaska.
Haven't read that yet. :|

Lol no seriously, I like reading the book before I watch the film. Which basically means I run from the movie unless I've read the book. :P
P.S- Did you just see how we've completely diverted from discussing A Song for Arbonne and are busy chatting away? Sumit will have our heads now. :P

what can we do? We can't discuss this one until he finish it?? :(:(
before him I think we'll have his head for procrastinating this beautiful book:P:P:P

time for me to log out. Bye!!!

1. Good thought to move the chitchat to the chat thread. But well, this isn't a classroom. So, off-tangent discussions, especially if they are somehow related to the topic at hand, should be fine. :)
2. By all means, please discuss the book. I should be finishing this week, unless something drastic happens. It'll be great if you can provide spoiler warnings, so that I can avoid them. Or maybe, I should avoid this thread altogether till I finish. :P
3. Manju is pulling me deeper into trouble by inviting me to more buddy reads. :P

I'm just inviting you, accepting it is totally your choice. You can always say NO.:D:D

Manju, thanks for introducing me to a new author who I'm likely to pursue further.
So, what do you guys think of the overall story and the characters?

to me story was pretty mediocre, I'm not much impressed with the story. but again if you've read Kay previously then you must know by now that his stories are about characters.
His characters are always great though I didn't liked them much in this one specially the males. but as always women are amazing.

I think the women are great.
Some are noble by birth and others are noble at heart.
Rosala certainly deserves a special mention for being strong enough to walk out of her husband's door without being cowed down by her imposing father-in-law.
I didn't like Lucianna at all - she sounded like a very two-dimensional, shallow character.
And among the men, I thought GGK should've done a better job with Galbert - his end wasn't satisfying enough. (Or perhaps, for a warrior, it was intended as the ultimate insult - to be killed not in a direct battle).
