YA Buddy Readers' Corner ♥ discussion

Guys, I know I am the worst reader. TBH, I don't feel motivated when I see how far we're behind,
And the reading slump kicked me hard.
I only finished 2 books, I can't remember when was the last time I read so little.
I decided to try my best to push myself out of this slump, because I feel bad. And I figured out that this whole team actually suffers because of me.
You guys give such an effort, especially Ariel, so I'll give my best to read more and to, hopefully, get out of this reading slump.
Maybe we won't be first, but at least I'll try for us to not lack so much.

For a second there I thought we were at the same points as Brunswick. Then I realised they're 193 now and we're 127 or something.

@Irena I've been feeling discouraged also. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but the vibe has been off this month.

Just remember, we read for ourselves. Yes, we are on a team but ultimately I am reading this much or this little for myself. In the end, this is supposed to be fun and this month it just hasn't for me.

So, you aren't alone. I've been feeling similar to you as of late...

Weirdly, I've been feeling the same and I was feeling it last month too. I don't know what it is but something about reading has felt off to me. It's been taking me sooo long to read book that I'd usually finish really quickly idk.

I also am sorry I probably haven't contributed as much as I could - then again it's the 12th and there is still time but STILL I wish I could motivate myself to read more but weirdly it's just not been happening. I wish I knew what was up

But on another note: Will post two reviews tomorrow, possibly three, one of them with a buddy read

I know :( I just don't want anyone to feel like they're forcing themselves to read for the sake of a competition. We are all contributing in our own way and I think checking the other scores can be very discouraging (which is why I don't do it), so if you are the same just don't check it. I always think we do the best when we are focusing on ourselves and not on others :)

Finished a 12-pointer :)

I finished 2 books today, one a 10 pointer the other only a 3. I think my reading slump is going away FINALLY so yay !

I'm going to have 3 or 4 more buddies coming up soon for double points :)

I'm 20 pages away from finishing a 6 pointer, and then tomorrow I'll hopefully get most of the way through another at least 6-pointer. I'm going to try and read heaps so that I can start getting the points back.

I was only 16% through City of Glass at the start of the month, so when I finish that (which I definitely will this month) we'll get our 12 points.

Ariel, my second book's available for pickup at my library but I can't get it until Saturday. Have you read them yet?

Oh XD You've already asked for buddies for Frostbite :p I'll join with Shadow Kiss with you. Wait actually I think I've already read that one, so maybe just the 4th one. I'll see. Can't hurt to re-read Shadow Kiss.

I own the next two for the PLL series, so I can start the, whenever. I will be out of the country from the 9th-16th in April so any day's other than those.

Alright awesome. Just let me know when you get to Shadow Kiss :) I'll pick up the whole series when I get back to my parents' this weekend so I've got them all on hand. Hopefully we are in the same group next month as well! I think that's slightly pushing it though :/

Got another 3 points, but it wasn't buddied :( My next read'll give us 8, and then I'm getting to City of Glass which'll give us 12, but I think that might be all from me this month.

Oh and Ariel I'm picking up the second and third PLL books this weekend, as well as all of the Vampire Academy books, so just let me know when you'd like to read them.

I am ready to read PLL when you are, I still have not gotten the next VA book. I plan on reading a few more before the month is out

I saw that Karen was doing the serious.
I didn't sign up bc I didn't know for how long my reading slump was going to last, so I didn't check who signed up for which group this month.
I think it's a good choice to participate in serious if you read that many books.

Sorry for disappearing, uni worked kicked me real hard this week eeeehh. I'm nearly finished a 500 page book and then hopefully can squeeze one more buddy in

I'll only get 1 more book read this month. I'll finish the last 100 pages tomorrow. I'll probably also want to start the next one, but won't be able to because I don't want it spanning months :p
