Hi everyone.

I obtained permission Susan & Judy to post this. :)

I was made a moderator last year of The Far Pavilions & Beyond, a group for buddy reading the works of M. M. Kaye. The group was nearly dead, so the other moderators & I have rebranded as Retro Reads. We are looking at beloved writers from the 20 century, active or mostly active before 1979. Examples are Elizabeth Goudge, Anya Seton & Frances Parkinson Keyes. The only mystery writers we are intending to tackle are Frances Parkinson Keyes (The Royal Box) & M. M. Kaye herself, since it was her group!

Edit; we are also not intending to do authors with active GR groups - for example Georgette Heyer & Mary Stewart.

If this sounds like you come join us! :)

Sounds really interesting, Carol. Good luck with it and let us know your next read. I am SO tempted to join in, but am not sure I can fit in any more books!

Sounds great, Carol, wishing you all the best with the group! I've joined, though might not have time to be very active!

Jill Hutchinson (bucs1960) That is a great idea, Carol. I have joined but, like Judy, I don't know how active I will be but will try to support the group

AngryGreyCat (angrygreycatreads) | 9 comments I may stop in and out but I don't know how active I will be able to be. I am trying to work my way through some golden age detective fiction and Barbara Pym's work as well so I will see what I can do!
