Greg | 383 comments About 2 hours in. She far enjoyable. I have seen the movie but thankfully it's been awhile and I've forgotten a lot of it. I'll have to rewatch it when I'm done.

I'm probably going to skip this one too.

Jen from Quebec :0) (muppetbaby99) | 397 comments Downloaded and ready to go but atm I am too consumed by reading HEX to start this one as well! Soon, though, as I can see me binging on HEX all night! --Jen from Quebec :0)

Greg | 383 comments Hex is ok my TBR List as well. I'm about halfway through this. I'm enjoying it but it gets a little long winded and confusing between some of its juvenile humor.

We don't seam to have many joiners this month.

Happens all the time in my house.

E. | 86 comments I read this almost a year ago and absolutely loved it. Full of "..big, weird, stupid things.."
Fun dialogue, non-stop action, lots of creepiness.
And for some reason this line has stuck with me, "Of all the dogs I've known in my life, I've never seen a better driver"

I can tell I'm going to love this one. I read his Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits when it first came out and the description you just gave fits that as well. It was also an interesting commentary on social media. My review of that book included the phrase "rocking, raucous, rollicking and very violent" so it sounds on a par with JD@tE.

Staci Wilson | 7 comments I'll have to check this out. I enjoyed the movie so much, I hired the lead actor (Chase Williamson) to act in one of my films. Who reads the audio book?

message 15: by Tom (new)

Tom Mathews | 144 comments I'm listening to the audio.

E. | 86 comments Narrator is Stephen R Thorne.

And the next This Book Is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don't Touch It is just as good, in some ways better.

Tom Mathews | 144 comments Shortly before the election, David Wong wrote an article about life in the undisclosed Midwestern city where he come from and where this story most likely takes place. It's very interesting.

Greg | 383 comments I just finished. Now I am going to rewatch the movie. I know that they removed a couple scenes and key points from the movie but I am not too sure.

I'd rate the book a 3.56668675309 out of 5. I rounded up to a 4 for the sake of GoodReads (I usually always round up). All in all there were many moments that had me laughing out loud. But there were also quite a few moments where the story felt very disjointed and hard to follow.

I'm not completely sure if I'll get around to the sequel but I'll add it to my TBR just in case.

Beth Dean (readremark) | 6 comments I feel bad about this because I was really looking forward to this, but I'm having the hardest time following it. It seems like a series of wacky events, but not really a plot.

message 20: by Lena (new)

Lena | 2676 comments it does seem loosely tied together at best. the flashbacks and odd circumstances don't help.

I'm kind of surprised too. It is a bit hard to follow. It seems to have a good deal of alternate realities and what Doctor Who calls wibbley wobbly timey whimy stuff in it.

message 22: by Greg (new)

Greg | 383 comments It was originally published as an online serial story and does come off as very episodic in nature. It's between these episodes that the story becomes disjointed until you can disregard your previous questions and get back into the new portion of the tale.
