Steven Moore To All My Group Friends,
The mystery/suspense/thriller book Angels Need Not Apply, #2 in the "Detectives Chen and Castilblanco Series," is now on sale at Smashwords--use coupon code KL38P when checking out to save 67%. It's available in all ebook formats there, including .mobi (Kindle).
The entire series is now on Smashwords, so the books are available at that site's retail and lending affiliates too. Of course, the series is available on Amazon too.
If you missed the sale on #1, don't wait for this one. All books are independent stories and can be read in any order. Enjoy.

Steven Moore Thanks, Nik.
While I generally discourage short reviews, one reader called this book "Awesome!" I don't know why he said that, though, but it was with the old cover, which wasn't so great. This one's more John Le Carre-like, although the novel is a mix, mystery/suspense/thrills. In some of the C&C novels, Chen and Castilblanco go international--this one mostly only goes to Mexico. The main villain is loosely modeled on El Chapo.
I do want to emphasize the stand-alone nature of these novels. A reviewer of Aristocrats and Assassins complimented me on that and said I should teach a course on how to do it. No course needed: when writing a series, authors can use old characters and maybe old settings, but they should always ask themselves, "Can this novel be read independently?" The answer must always be yes. In particular, going soap-opera-like installments and cliffhangers is a no-no because it betrays your readers.

M.L. Good luck, Steven. Anything similar to Le Carre sounds good to me!
