What were your first impressions as you started this book? Did you find it easy to get into? Are there any characters that stand out to you?

Wendy (wmaresca) So I just started reading tonight and I have to say. Hmmm a little confusing right now, defintely want to keep reading to see where this is going but it isn't the easiest for me to follow. Jeevan stands out to me he girlfriend comes across as a bit of a jerk, although I don't know the back story yet. So looking forward to seeing what is to come.

Debbi Faust Wendy, That's exactly how I felt at first.....so many names and so many 3rd cello, 6th trumpet, etc. Then I decided to focus on the most important names....Kristen, Jeevan, Arthur Leander and his first wife, Miranda, Arthur's best friend Clark, etc.

I am over 100 pages in and I am looking forward to the rest of the book.

I finally finished my last book from Feb and can start Station Eleven.

I really connected to the writing right from the beginning. I was drawn into the story and am eager to continue. We don't know much after this first chapter. After peeking at the back I know that the little girl Kirsten in the play will have a larger role as the story goes on. I am not in the middle of any other books right now, which is rare! I might finish this quicker than I thought!

Debbi Faust YAY! How did you like the Kate Morton book you just finished?

Now, I will pick up Station Eleven again and read along with everyone.

Lisa B. (lisabookssmiles) | -5 comments I don't know what my problem is...why do I find this to be a bit confusing? I think I'm focusing to much on the musical lingo and all the names. I'm slightly annoyed with myself right now. UGH!

message 8: by Debbi (new)

Debbi Faust Yes, there were a lot of names to read and I was going crazy but once you just focus on the main characters and forget the 1st cello, the 6th violin, etc. it gets a little easier. Just stick with it. The reading get much easier a little more into the book.

message 9: by Becky (new)

Becky I just started reading Station Eleven and I found it a bit confusing as well. I do have the general idea of what happened though and I'm definitely intrigued. I'm glad to hear that the reading gets easier further into the story.

Off to read more now...
I'll chack back in at the end of Part 2.
