Did your suspicions get raised when Morton and Bashears replaced Detective Perkins on the case or did this seem normal?

I didn't have any suspicions that time. A little when it was reveled they were involved with the original case.

I was suspicious of them right from the start.

I was suspicious immediately, mainly because I was looking for a "bad" cop.

I wasn't willing to paint anyone as a bad cop, but Morton was awful nasty right from the beginning.
