Sheri | 202 comments Welcome Lara! Yay, another TrueBlood fan!! I loved the show (but ironically got sick of Sookie for a good reason. I'll tell you all about it sometime) & Charlaine Harris's books. By the way, another series of hers has made it to the TV. It's called Midnight Texas & I just checked & it's actually on a local broadcast station. I'm surprised you didn't mention watching Supernatural. That is one of the only 3 TV shows I really watch. I'm into movies. Supernatural is on CW & I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!! Honestly I can't say enough fabulous things about it. And I'm completely obsessed with Jensen Ackles, so there's that too. I'm a horror fanatic, love all things supernatural & enjoy a good adult UF (preferably dark)....well, you know, I got a recommendation from you earlier today!

message 7: by Clara (new)

Clara I (claraizz) | 6 comments Wow I knew Midnight Texas was from the creators of True Blood, but I didn't know it was also from Charlaine Harris books! That's awesome! Really looking forward to it now! And yes I love love love the show Supernatural - I can't believe I forgot to mention it - its actually one of my favorite shows! And you can't have Jensen - he's mine! He actually went to my rival high school :)

message 8: by Sheri (new)

Sheri | 202 comments NO WAY! If he attended your rival highschool then that means that you lived relatively close. Interesting!!!! Did you know who he was when he was doing day time TV?

message 9: by Clara (new)

Clara I (claraizz) | 6 comments No. I didn't no who he was. We are both from Dallas - the Richardson area. Dallas is pretty big, but our high schools were in the same area. I had no idea who he was - I do believe he's younger than me :)

message 10: by Sheri (new)

Sheri | 202 comments He was born same year as me but in March. 1978 & sadly I did not need to google that, lol. I'm determined to get to a comicon & get his autograph & steel a big bear hug!!!!!

message 11: by Clara (new)

Clara I (claraizz) | 6 comments Yeah he's closer to my little brothers age - but I always did like them younger! Just ask my hubbie - he's 3 years younger than me :) I still have to watch the 2nd half of season 12 from this year - my DVR failed me and didn't tape it for some reason. I've watched half of it on Amazon, but I got sick of paying for it, so I was waiting for it to come out on Netflix - might be out now, not sure. I'm going to check. I've been so into reading I haven't been watching that much TV. I did catch the pilot of Midnight, TX last night though. I liked it, it looks like its going to be pretty good just judging from the pilot. I haven't read the books. My husband didn't like it, but he doesn't like the paranormal stuff as much as I do. He loved True Blood, but I could never get him to watch Supernatural. I think he just turns his nose up at anything not on a cable station actually! I'll watch it by myself - we can still watch Game of Thrones together! If you watch it let me know what you think. Have you read the books? I read the first few Sookie Stackhouse novels, but I read them after I had already watched all of True Blood, so it was just too wierd for me because everything was too different and I just couldn't keep reading unfortunately - I'm just too much a fan of the show. For goodness sakes in the book Lafayette got killed off like in the first book - and he was a main character in the show! It was just too weird for me, even though I know the books came first. I should have read the books first, but I was watching the show before I knew about the books! Anyway, let me know what you think about Midnight, TX.

Sheri | 202 comments Hi Debbie, welcome :)
It looks like we definitely have some similar tastes so we can recommend books to each other, etc. good times! I'm actually re-reading the Anita Blake series so I can continue with the 2nd half. I only made it through book 10 & that was some yrs back. Congrats on watching Supernatural for the first time. It's pretty much always on TNT. It's on season 7 right now.

Lara- Believe it or not, I've only made it half way through season 10!! Haven't seen the finale (don't know anything about it) of it. So I'm looking forward to that and the seasons following.

HI Tena, Did you read the Midnight series? I wanted to see Midnight Texas but its on Monday nights and I shoot pool then & I don't have DVR. Was wondering is they stayed true to the books. I haven't read them yet but they are next on my list!!

message 19: by Clara (new)

Clara I (claraizz) | 6 comments Hey Tena - I watched the pilot of Midnight, TX. I have the 2nd episode recorded and I'm actually about to go watch it after I'm done fooling around online. I really liked it. I think it looks like its going to be a good series judging just by the first episode. There are some interesting characters. I didn't read the series, so I don't have expectations of it "matching" the books or anything. I was a big True Blood fan though, so I am a fan of Charlaine Harris's storytelling. I wish it was on HBO or something though - I'm not a fan of the commercials, and being on cable usually gives it more of an edge, but we'll see what they are able to do with it. I think it will be good. :)

Debbie - you might be able to catch the episodes online by going to NBC's webpage. I'm not sure if NBC does it or not, but most of the networks put their TV show episodes online to be viewed after they have aired on regular TV, they might only stay up for a week or two though, not sure - worth checking out if you want to see it.

message 20: by Tena (new)

Tena Stetler | 5 comments I didn't read the books either. So no expectation there. I recorded TV shows that way I can zoom through the commercials. Haven't seen the second one, plan to watch it tomorrow night. I like to blood when I could see it, I didn't have HBO So I only got to watch it on HBO is free. I've got the Siri set to record looks like a great show
