First Stop: David Copperfield - Starting June 6

you know what makes it nice and special -in India, unfortunately, girls are usually not wanted.. the female foeticide rate is really high.. which is why abortions are banned... and to see someone in that age and time want a girl, albeit for selfish reasons, is worth a moment of pleasure...

Great.. when are you starting?? :) :)

Although this is a heavy read :|

And am still stuck on 22.. haven't read that book after that.. Had no desire to read anything.. Currently started next month's BOTM and enjoying it.. hopefully after this one, I shall get back to DC.. :)

And Miss Murdstone finally returns!!!

What do you think of Uriah? He's such a slimy character and I simply hate it when he says umble :P :P GOD!! But you have to give Dickens full points on the characters.. each one is so beautifully developed and brings about a completely different emotion from the reader.. You laugh, you cry, you want to hit or hate.. simply superb.

And about Uriah...the way he keeps saying umble is getting on my nerves. But the way Dickens describes him as writhing is hilarious. I keep imagining a fish trying to walk on land :P
Have you met Rosa Dartle yet?
David Copperfield is the story of a young man’s adventures on his journey from an unhappy & impoverished childhood to the discovery of his vocation as a successful novelist. Among the gloriously vivid cast of characters he encounters are his tyrannical stepfather, Mr Murdstone; his formidable aunt, Betsey Trotwood; the eternally humble yet treacherous Uriah Heep; frivolous, enchanting Dora; & the magnificently impecunious Micawber, one of literature’s great comic creations.
In David Copperfield—the novel he described as his “favorite child”—Dickens drew revealingly on his own experiences to create one of his most exuberant & enduringly popular works, filled with tragedy & comedy in equal measure.
