Ross | 1444 comments Where to begin I have been on a journey (yes I'm going there) since I heard Emma speak at DAVOS I have had benefits from better communication with my wife to a new community.

Clarity of thought; being honest with yourself open doors to other aspects of your life. The joy of knowing you are doing something right making a contribution in a small way making things better is amazing.

Being a feminist is actually life affirming and being a fan of Emma is just plain fun. Can't recommend both highly enough.

Nicole Koon | 5 comments I grew up associating Feminism with anger and aggressiveness. As an adult, I've learned that it's about having a voice and the ability to make my own choices without worrying about what's "proper" or "appropriate" for a woman. I learned to not care so much what others thought about me and to care more about being someone I can look at in the mirror.

The most positive thing I've seen is watching my daughters grow up without feeling like they have limits on them. My older loves to spend hours on her hair and make-up and pick out three outfits to go to the store. She wants to be a teacher and a mom. My younger wants to be an engineer and couldn't care less about fashion. Both of these choices are great, because it's what makes each of them happy.

I've done all I can to raise confident, independent daughters and seeing them grow into their independence is amazing!

Kimia (kimiasb) | 13 comments Opposite to the other two people who have commented, I do not have that much experience. Neither in life nor feminism. But when I saw one of Emma's speeches two years ago, the term 'feminism' sounded very promising to me, so I started doing some basic research. Then I found out that I really liked the idea of feminism and the fact that everyone can be who they want to be and everyone can make a difference in their own way, really changed my life. Being part of such a huge community that supports each other really made me feel more confident.

Anna (b00kw1zard) | 3 comments Similar to the previous comment I felt no need to be apart of feminism and wasn't really apart of anything. After joining this book club I realized this was something I wanted to be apart of. Feminism is something worth talking about and being passionate about. I want to get my hands on everything and learn as much as I can!! Thank you to everyone here and the group!!!
