Happy reading:)

The Duke of Shadows
The Duke of Shadows by Meredith Duran

From exotic sandstone palaces...

Sick of tragedy, done with rebellion, Emmaline Martin vows to settle quietly into British Indian society. But when the pillars of privilege topple, her fiancé's betrayal leaves Emma no choice. She must turn for help to the one man whom she should not trust, but cannot resist: Julian Sinclair, the dangerous and dazzling heir to the Duke of Auburn.

To the marble halls of London...

In London, they toast Sinclair with champagne. In India, they call him a traitor. Cynical and impatient with both worlds, Julian has never imagined that the place he might belong is in the embrace of a woman with a reluctant laugh and haunted eyes. But in a time of terrible darkness, he and Emma will discover that love itself can be perilous -- and that a single decision can alter one's life forever.

Destiny follows wherever you run.

A lifetime of grief later, in a cold London spring, Emma and Julian must finally confront the truth: no matter how hard one tries to deny it, some pasts cannot be disowned...and some passions never die.

Mariana | 2692 comments This is another one my library does not have!

For those who have already read, is it worth a purchase?

Andrea AKA Catsos Person (catsosperson) | 1635 comments Mariana,

I haven't read this, but own a used copy and plan to read it.

There is a used copy for $3.59 + SH at Thriftbooks.com if you decide to buy it.

Priya (priyachennareddy) | 1544 comments My library doesn't have this book and I would be quite busy in April. So, I skip this one.

My library gets rid of old books, so even if I hadn't had an old copy lying around, the wouldn't have it.

I have quite a few books to read in the next couple weeks, so I think I will skip as well.

I really liked this book. Just re-read it last week, in fact. But it depends on what you like, of course.

Oleander | 268 comments This is one of the BotM in April. Guess it also got picked back in 2017. Lots of people complaining they couldn't get it but now it's on KU. I've already started reading and am 20% into it. It started kind of slow but the author did a great job of building the atmosphere of exotic, sweltering heat, and a political situation about to explode. When it did explode, it was very exciting.
