2/4: (view spoiler)[ I really hate how Soren is found by the other two owls and how they take him back to the camp where he is treated terribly. I like how he meets Gylfie and how they become good friends. (hide spoiler)]

3/4: (view spoiler)[ I like how Gylfie and Soren will not give up. I like how they refuse to answer by the number they are called and I like how they are willing to receive all the punishments. I like how they team up and work together and discover the plot of the owls. (hide spoiler)]

Finished: (view spoiler)[ I am glad that the old owl sacrificed his life to save Soren and Gylfie. I like how they fly away and leave the place. I am glad that they escaped together and didn't die. (hide spoiler)]

it's a kids book. all I'm gonna say.

Review: Upped this from 3 to 4 stars. I love this story, all the challenges the little owls face, from (view spoiler)[learning to fly, finding out about their parents, evading moon-blinking, finding others to help them escape, and now trying to find Ga'Hoole. (hide spoiler)] That's a lot for little owls, but I can't wait to see what comes next! This book wasn't slow at all. It was a fast read, lots of action and suspense and planning.

I'm starting now and should be finished with it tonight!

Ch 5 (view spoiler)[ The story is already underway with Soren "falling" out of the tree. Although you could tell it was Kludd that pushed him out. The moon shining is interesting and I agree with you. I wonder what they are trying to achieve. (hide spoiler)]

Ch 10 (view spoiler)[ I don't know how I would do in their situation with the no question rule. They have managed around it by asking questions in statements (like working around the question). They just pluck feathers?? what the heck (hide spoiler)]

Ch 20 (view spoiler)[ They have met 2 others that have not been moon shined. Hortense was caught rescuing the eggs while Grimble is the other and he has been forgetting his family each day he stays. He doesn't know how much longer he will last. (hide spoiler)]

finished (view spoiler)[ I enjoyed this book even if it was classified as a children's book. I feel I'm almost too old to give it any higher rating than a 3 because it just seemed a little childish. It does have a nice storyline with the owls being taken and almost given numbers like they were soldiers. Now they are on their way to Ga'hoole and I wonder what will be in store for them there.
