Doug Moe (goodreadscomdougmoe) | 3 comments My publisher has a giveaway running for my book, to be published in May. I was hoping that it would show up if one wanted to browse by tag, but it doesn't seem to even though it has been shelved as "humor" a few times. How does one get it to show up under the giveaway tags?

Jaclyn (jaclyn_w) | 417 comments Hi Doug! Due to recent changes to our giveaway form, we’ve removed the “tags” field and now giveaway hosts can use a genres drop-down menu instead (in your case this is "Humor and Comedy"). Since this menu has the genre names listed differently to the tags you see on the side of the giveaway page, those existing tags won't truly reflect the number of humor giveaways active on the site.

Unfortunately, since some older giveaways on the site are still using those old tags, we're not able to remove and update them until those giveaways have ended. In the meantime, I'd suggest searching for your giveaway using "Humor and Comedy" in the search bar under the "Browse by Tag" section. Hope that helps!

Doug Moe (goodreadscomdougmoe) | 3 comments Ah. I understand that now, although the "tags" are so prominently displayed that I think it could lead to confusion. When will those tags be phased out?

Jaclyn (jaclyn_w) | 417 comments Hi again, Doug! Just a quick update that this post might be of interest to you.

In short, we've updated the tags category to reflect a Browse by Genre section, which means Goodreads members who enter giveaways can now filter these by the genres they’re most interested in, helping them more easily find books they're interested in and allowing you, as an author, increased discoverability of every giveaway.

Doug Moe (goodreadscomdougmoe) | 3 comments I'm glad this was implemented - this should help people find giveaways between their listing time and the "ending soon" time.
