AngryGreyCat (angrygreycatreads) | 665 comments July is my month to make book selections, I really went back and forth over what to do and finally decided I have several books I want to clear off my TBR list. Some of them are older books, they appear to be readily available on Amazon used quite cheaply (some just .01)

I will put up a poll and try to close it about June 25th to give people a chance to get the books. The top 2 books will be the July reads.

Murder in Volume (Megan Clark, #1) by D.R. Meredith Murder in Volume

Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter (A Dixie Hemingway Mystery #1) by Blaize Clement Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter

A Tisket, A Tasket, A Fancy Stolen Casket (A Callie Parrish Mystery #1) by Fran Rizer

A Taste of the Nightlife (Vampire Chef, #1) by Sarah Zettel

Deadly Advice by Roberta Isleib

Through a Glass, Deadly (A Glassblowing Mystery, #1) by Sarah Atwell

Melodie (melodieco) 3 of these series I've read and all 3 were good reads!

Fanfic - Curiosity Killed the Cat Sitter is a prior group read, so I removed it from your poll. At least that narrows down the decision :) I also changed the closing date of the poll to the 18th, some of need a little more lead time. You've got a good range of choices, it's going to be hard to decide!

Melissa | 140 comments The only one I've read was Through a Glass, Deadly. I've read the first two in that series and really enjoyed them.

AngryGreyCat (angrygreycatreads) | 665 comments Just to let everyone know where we stand. Tomorrow is the last day of the poll for the July book. Currently we are at a three way tie with 4 votes per book:

Deadly Advice by Roberta Isleib This one has been on my list for a while due to the unusual theme. The protagonist has an advice column. Growing up reading Dear Abby this caught my eye.

Through a Glass, Deadly (A Glassblowing Mystery, #1) by Sarah Atwell Another one that has been on my TBR list. I have never read a glass blowing theme before and really had no interest (I'm not very artsy crafty) but I read the Button Shop mysteries, that I also had no interest in the theme and really liked them. I decided not to limit myself based on theme, since the characters and the mystery make the book for me anyway.

Murder in Volume (Megan Clark, #1) by D.R. Meredith This one is the traditional choice :) A book themed cozy. Although some people feel like this theme is done to death, I feel like I can always read a book themed cozy and in fact I read several.

Each of these books has 4 votes (there are other choices as well) so please, if you haven't voted, vote today or tomorrow. The top two will be July's books.

Heather - did you vote in the poll?

message 12: by Heather (new)

Heather | 195 comments Probably not...where do you go to find the poll?

message 13: by Heather (new)

Heather | 195 comments I may have just voted...some of the books weren't showing, but I did see the one I wanted to choose, and I clicked the "want to read button!" I hope that was the correct procedure! :)

The poll has closed now, so you can't vote in this round anymore, but here's how to do it in the future:
In the top right corner of this page, under the group name, are several links -- Group Home, Bookshelf, Invite People, etc. Click on Polls. When that page loads, click on the cover of the book you want to read and voila! You've voted :)

AngryGreyCat (angrygreycatreads) | 665 comments Ok, everyone ...Murder in Volume Murder in Volume (Megan Clark, #1) by D.R. Meredith was a clear winner, so that will definitely be one of the group reads for July.

Deadly Advice and Through a Glass, Deadly tied for second place. I put them in a random generator and Deadly Advice won.

Then to be fair I rechecked Amazon and Barnes & Noble websites and I found that Through a Glass, Deadly has slightly more availability (used and new paperbacks, Large Print, Nook Book, Kindle Edition). Based on that I am going to say the second book is Through a Glass, Deadly. However, if anyone is interested in reading Deadly Advice as a buddy read, I will be reading it as well.

So...July's books are:
Murder in Volume (Megan Clark, #1) by D.R. Meredith and Through a Glass, Deadly (A Glassblowing Mystery, #1) by Sarah Atwell
