⚜️XAR the Bookwyrm (xar-the-bookwyrm) ※The Hobby Corner Monthly Challenge※

descriptiondescription

You never know where an idea for a challenge can come from...and this one is no exception! A conversation with my husband led to this little challenge: A feature on a specific hobby every month!

For April, I'm featuring an Outdoors hobby that takes advantage of the sunny and warm weather: bird watching!

There are three different ways to participate in this challenge: do a spell out of any of the words I'll list below, complete a number of tasks that correspond to a level, or mix and match to meet that level goal!

How To’s:
• Pick your level
• Read one book per task/letter
• Spell outs can be completed using Title, Author First and/or Last Name, Narrator First and/or Last Name, or Series Name ONLY!
Articles and other words such as 'A', 'And', 'An', and 'The' do not count to match to a letter in the spell outs!
• Re-reads are allowed
• There are no page minimums or limits unless noted

Duration: April 1st to April 30th, 2017

Levels:
Casual Observer: 4 or less books
Watcher: 5-7 books
Twitcher/Chaser: 8-10 books
Birder: 11+ books

Spell Outs

Birding in North America was focused in the early and mid-20th century in the eastern seaboard region: Read a book set in the USA, anywhere from Maine to Florida
The most active times of the year for birding in temperate zones are during the spring or fall migrations when the greatest variety of birds may be seen.: Read a book set in spring or fall
Birding as a competitive event is organized in some parts of the world. The birding competitions encourage individuals or teams to accumulate large numbers of species within a specified time or area with special rules.: Read a book where a character participates in a competition or on a team

I'll allow narrators in spell outs for audiobooks used (please link the audiobook version in your post, so I can check narrators!), but I think allowing characters would be stretching it a bit too far, so I'm going to say no characters allowed for spell outs. Sorry!
