My good friend Christy and I are going to tackle this medical thriller!

I'm plugging along, through Chapter 3

I like that the work together. I don't(view spoiler)[ blame her for wanting to put her foot down and have him make a decision. (hide spoiler)]

alright, finally 5 chapters

I'm also glad she's jumpy and trying to tie all these cases together - diversion tactic or not (hide spoiler)]

and(view spoiler)[ I wonder how the insurance plays into all of this. do they start killing off the ones that show they have the possibility of longer term care (like a gene that shows it might defect?) (hide spoiler)]

10 chapters. this one is finally moving

Laurie(view spoiler)[ painful! of course, Roger sucks. he's probably Bob
and she's, of course, pregnant. I'm assuming he grabbed her, dated her to work to keep her only talking to him about the killings. I just wonder, now that he's made that weird "hurt yourself" comment if he plans to make her look unhinged or suicidal
I don't like him at all - I think the first clue was all his smiles in the photos and no one else smiled but was frowning

now that they have her DNA, I wonder if she is already in the system.

I also think the lack of video cameras everywhere is somewhat dating this story. as well as some of the medical stuff. (hide spoiler)]

Jack(view spoiler)[ I think because I haven't read the other books, I don't know the additional story here but I find him child-like and immature. I think he's also mildly rude - he's blunt and insensitive and I can see why he's in that field - I don't think he has a good bedside manner (hide spoiler)]

Laurie(view spoiler)[ the writing style for their conversations is just too formal "I did not think" kind of stuff. just doesn't sound like 2 people talking in real life (hide spoiler)]

meh. this one is really dragging....more Drama than mystery
