Hi, Joanne. If you navigate to our group's bookshelf and then find the book you want thoughts on, there should be a "view activity" button to click on. This will pull up a page that shows members' reviews of the book.
Here's the bookshelf "view activity" page for Kim Vogel Sawyer's The Librarian of Boone's Hollow, for example...

Thank you, Carolyn. I'll head over there.

Looks like Loraine beat me to it. Teamwork!
Carolyn, thanks for letting us know the name of the thread. That is very helpful. :)

It looks like this might be the right place to report another work opportunities spam post (this one on the Cover Love 2022 thread).
Thank you to our wonderful mods who always seem to be right on those posts!🙂💖

We do try. :)
We do try. :)

I am looking for a group of Christian readers who read widely--classics, fantasy, historical fiction--not exclusively Christian fiction. Is this a group that fits that description, or do you read Christian fiction exclusively?
(I am relatively new to using goodreads except for posting reviews, so participating in a goodreads group is new to me. Sorry if I struggle to figure it out and make some faux pas.)
Several of our members read widely, but the focus of our group is Christian fiction. Our books of the month are only Christian fiction. However, for our reading challenges, other books may be used. We ask that books with explicit sex or coarse language not be linked or that a content warning (such as “general market, bad language”) be given when posting about the book.

You might want to also check out the group "Christian Goodreaders"--they discuss a wide variety of Christian books.

Hi, Karlesha! There should be a comment box at the bottom of the buddy read thread. You're welcome to use that comment box to ask about a buddy to read a particular book. Thanks for asking!

1. Once we have commented I’m in on a challenge, what is the best way to share the books we read? Should we do a new comment or just edit the I’m in comment?
2. I notice some challenges ask us to declare a shelf. I have my Want to Read and Already Read shelves, but what are some examples of other shelves you have?
3. If one book can qualify for multiple challenges is it okay to submit it in more than one?
4. Does anyone have a good system for keeping up with all of the challenges you have entered, and keeping track of which books you have read for each?
Sorry for so many questions. I’ve been watching this group for some time but hope to jump in and participate in 2023!
Great questions, Lynnette . . . and we're glad to have you participate more fully in the challenges and the like in 2023!
1. For me personally, I edit the original 'I'm in' comment with the books I've read that fit each challenge. I then bookmark each challenge 'comment' so I can return to it easily when I finish the next book, etc.
2. I tend to name each challenge shelf with the title of the challenge and the year . . . for instance, I recently created my 'author-of-the-month-2023' shelf, and the books I've selected for that particular challenge will get 'tagged' to that shelf.
3. This particular answer will depend on the specific challenge, but honestly, I've never had an issue with counting a book for more than one challenge. You just can't count the book twice for the same challenge (like a title or a cover challenge that happens to have 2 'fills' on one book).
4. Google docs are my friends for this one. I have a challenge list created, and then I am easier able to keep track of what I want to read each month for each challenge, and what I need to put on hold at the library, etc.
HTH! 🙂

Kate has some great answers. :)
I'll just add my two cents' worth on my personal tracking and such.
I track my challenge books in physical notebooks as I read the books, marking down titles, author names, and finish dates.
I also update my sign-up comment on each challenge as I have time throughout the challenge period. This ebbs and flows for me, as I work 2-3 jobs throughout any given month.
Usually, I repost my full, completed challenge at the end of the challenge period so everyone can see what I read in the challenge.

Thank you. I appreciate the help.
Hi Lynnette! There's no right or wrong and it comes down to reader preference on some of these. Here's my thoughts...
1. It depends on the challenge for me. If it's one where I am wanting to keep all my reads together, I will add books to my original post. One example of this is the non-fiction challenge. I want to be able to look at all my non-fiction reads in one place. In contrast, for the library challenge, I post a new comment when I add a book because I don't have any need to look at all my library reads together.
2. I have shelves for each year and store my books in there as I finish reading them. I also have a shelf for books I physically own. I don't have a ton of Goodreads shelves.
3. Definitely fine to use a book for more than one challenge. For example, I recently finished a Christmas book set in Wyoming. I used it for both the monthly Christmas challenge and the quarterly state challenge.
4. I like to use the crunch time thread to keep what I'm lacking in one spot.
Glad you are getting more engaged in our group!

Thank you. That’s very helpful.

1. I've done one or the other, depending on the challenge or on what I felt like doing at the time. 😆 I've also done both in the same challenge thread when the challenge required a different thing for each book. For example, I did a Genre challenge for which the goal was to read from various genres. I ended up with a list of dozens of genres/subgenres that had a different book for each genre. I kept that list, alphabetized by genre, in my original post, updating it frequently, and when I did those updates, I also added a new post with the latest books so that they would be seen by members looking for new posts to the thread.
2. I have 312 bookshelves. I have challenge bookshelves going back to 2013. I make bookshelves for whatever suits my fancy. I made some for genres, some for books my local library has, some for books I own, etc.
3. I love it when a book fits multiple challenges. Most of the books I read are used in more than one challenge.
4. Bookshelves have always worked well for me. We used to have trackers for individual challenges, and I miss them. I create a bookshelf for each challenge I join and use the same format to name each shelf. One shelf is 2023-audiobk-21. I put the year first, because that groups the shelves together near the top of my bookshelf list, under the exclusive shelves (All, Read...). Then I put a short name for the challenge and the minimum number of books I plan to read for it. I add a book to the shelf whenever I think of one I want to read that fits the challenge. I can see in the shelf name how many books I need to read, and I can see on the shelf which books I've read for a challenge and can count how many. On my Profile page in the Comments section, I list all of the challenges, my goal, my progress, and links to the CFD challenge page and my bookshelf. After the year is over, I put a z in front of each of that year's challenge shelves so that they go to the end of my bookshelf list and stay grouped together. I could delete them, but I like to have a record of them.
FYI: You may need to use desktop version of this site to work with bookshelves (I always use desktop version because mobile version doesn't have full capabilities). You can make challenge bookshelves go to the top under the exclusive shelves without naming them in any particular way. To do that, pick the "sticky" option beside the shelf on the Edit Shelves page, which you can reach by picking (Edit) beside Bookshelves at the top of the bookshelves list.
As you can see from replies to you, there are various ways to do things and each person has their preferred ways.

Thank you so much. Lots of helpful info! I’m excited to get started.

You're welcome. Keep in mind that this is all for fun and encouragement to read. Don't get stressed about meeting goals. You can always change your goals or drop out of challenges if you can't complete them for some reason.

Thank you! I do know that in my head, but I appreciate being given “permission”. LoL When I first found this group I was trying a couple of challenges. At one point I found myself forcing my way through a couple of books I was not enjoying at all just because they fit the challenge. I’ve decided to try to be more selective about challenges now and hopefully not feel like I have to participate in every single one. I love to read and I am loving finding new books and authors from all of you sweet people!

😆 I’ve done that. 🥰 Thanks. We do try to be helpful and encouraging.

Lynette the joy of reading is the most important part. Pick challenges you think will suit your needs, and don't stress over whether you complete them or not. They are just to have fun! Have a wonderful reading year!!

Thank you! I’m excited about reading with all of you.

Go to the search bar at the top of the page and enter the name of the book you want to find. When it comes up, on the left side
you will see a picture of the cover. Under the picture, you will see a bar that says "want to read." Click on that bar. You will get a popup with several bars insides. Click on the one that says read. This will the mark the book read and add it to your list of books you have read. Then if you click at the very top of the page on MY BOOKS, it will take you to your list of books read. Hope this helps.
Thank you, again, Carolyn. I had missed that particular thread that you mentioned.
