I am reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova. I'm loving it so far. It involves the legend of Dracula. It will be my "over 600 page" book for one of my reading challenges.

Just finished Guns, Germs, and Steel, and have begun I Know This Much is True.

I am reading Among the Wicked by Linda Castillo. Igo Mystery Book Club (San Antonio, Texas) will be discussing this one on May 3.

I needed a high dose of get-away-from-it-all fantasy and got it in Robin Hobb's Ship of Magic, the first in her Liveship Trilogy. I liked it even better than her Assassinstrilogy. A friend just recently turned me on to the fantasy genre - there's so much badly written fantasy out there, I need her as a guide to pick through it to find the gold.

I read Wires and Nerve, Volume 1, a graphic novel that follows what the characters in the Lunar Chronicles series are up to now that Cinder is the Lunar Queen.

I finished The Unseen World last night ... at 12:30am my poor husband asked if I could please turn the light off :/

I'm currently reading The Hiding Place: The Triumphant True Story of Corrie Ten Boom for book club next week. And I want to relisten to Sleeping Giants to refresh my memory about the story so I can listen to the next book in the series Waking Gods.

I am about 2/3 through THE SUMMER BEFORE THE WAR but am going to start The Sympathizer this upcoming weekend.

I am getting stalled with the Nix...can't relate to the whole nutty professor thing. There have been so many good reviews...should I keep at it? I'm thinking of moving on.

Listened to The Dry, Ready Player One and Autumn. I don't usually read who dunnits, so The Dry was a stretch for me. Ready Player One was a fun read that has long been on my list and Autumn is a short, beautiful, affectionate, wandering tale.

Engaging! I've read all of her books in the series, in order. I'm about a quarter of the way in, but it's just as good as all the others. Thus far, "The Likeness" has been my favorite. And "Broken Harbor" my least favorite. But I like them all!

Reading Tokyo on Foot: Travels in the City's Most Colorful Neighborhoods. The cutest guidebook to Tokyo ever. Not something you'd carry in your back pocket while wandering the city, but a charmingly illustrated western eye view of the pieces of it the author experienced while living there for six months.

I am listening to a fantasy series, by Naomi Novik about the Napoleonic Wars between France and Britian wherein dragons are used for arial combat. The series is the Temeraire books, and I am currently on Book 5, Victory of Eagles. Ms. Novik provides lots of twists, turn, and action. Simon Vance narrates this series does a very good jobs with character differentiation.

I am also reading, The Idea of You, by Amanda Prowse. This is a complex yet loving read about the loss suffered by miscarriage. Excellent read.

OMG I finally finished Stephen King's IT , loved it, still can't stop thinking about it. I gave up on A Notable Woman by Jean Lucy Pratt for the moment, in favor of books under 400 pages. I've started on Nella Last's War

The Forgetting Time was quite ... interesting.

I have finished The ZooKeeper's Wife and The Women in the Castle . If I had to choose one, I would read The Women in the Castle.
Currently listening to The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane , reading The Narrow Road to the Deep North....and RoboLady at the library called to say that Pachinko is waiting for me. A great run of books lately!

Finished Helen Simonson's The Summer Before the War a couple of weeks ago (it was GREAT, but 100 pp. too long, perhaps) and A Man Called Ove. Now reading When the Emperor Was Divine. I'm all over the place in April!
