Hello everyone and welcome to the April 2017 edition of SCPL’s Online Nonfiction book club! My name is Marcella, and I will be leading this month’s discussion. This month we’ll be reading Where Am I Now?: True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame By Mara Wilson
You may remember Mara better as a child actor in film such as Matilda, Mrs. Doubtfire and Miracle on 34th Street. Since then she’s grown into an honest and insightful author and performer with a very large following on Twitter. Her book is a collection of thoughtful and open essays dealing with a whole host of issues that many readers can relate to, such as finding your first love, experiencing grief and finding one’s place in the world, but also matters that many of us can't begin to imagine, like hitting puberty in the public eye. Often hilarious and thoroughly candid, this is definitely a memoir worth reading!
The book is available from the Library in several different formats, all of which are accessible at the following link: http://bit.ly/2nnxlrq
I’m looking forward to reading this book with you and discussing your thoughts and reactions!
