Hey Jessica! I also read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie, and I enjoyed it! I also wanted a little more from the book, but then I guess it is a good sign when I want to read more! I loved the main character. Junior had such a great character arc. He deals with such intense, sad topics with a sense of honesty and humor. I highly recommend this title to anyone who enjoys young adult literature.

This month I read...
Just One Year and Just One Night by Gayle Forman- Just One Year is the sequel to Just One Day, which I read and enjoyed last year. I loved seeing Willem's side of the year after his and Allyson's day in Paris. The parallels of their years were also really neat to see. I love how much they both grew in their searches for each other! Just One Night is a short novella that takes place right after Just One Year. It definitely gives a nice Happily Ever After ending for these characters. I'll admit I'm a hopeless romantic, so I loved it!
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie- This book made laugh, cry, and everything in between. I did leave the book wanting a little more from the plot, but the story was still well done. The cartoons throughout the book were really neat too!
The Wide Window by Lemony Snicket- Continuing my reread through this series. I can see why I loved them so much as a kid for sure!
The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri- This was beautifully written and executed story. The theme of finding and defining who are is something everyone can relate to, even if you aren't an immigrant or a first generation American like the characters in this story. While the story captivated me, the characters did seem to fall a little flat to me at points. Overall, still a great read!
