A biting your fingernails novel, The Maze Runner by James Dashner is a is an action book that will always keep you wondering with its mysterious plot twists. Throughout this book you will see the struggle of teens as there normal lives in a weird, shifting, confusing maze turn around and starts mass chaos amongst the bunch. You will read as the main character Thomas takes leadership of the team of individuals and leads them out of the devilish maze packed full of killing machines called greever's. This book is about Leadership, Teamwork, and Mental Toughness, during this book Thomas has to lead the team as a unit through the maze and to safety he also has to deal with the few that don't like Thomas having the power and leading considering he was the new comer to the maze and everything strange happens after he showed up. The detail in the text of this book really puts the maze in perspective, James Dashner does a great job of painting the images in your head. He also packed this book full of conflict, reading this you simply can not go a single chapter without the kids running into a new challenge. This book is highly recommend this book for every high school to put in their library's. The Maze Runner deserves a nine out of ten, it is the type of book that will have the reader on their toes and wanting to read more the whole time.
