So my thoughts on the serie is that is it great, the fantasy, how Rowling discribes the world of Harry Potter, the characters, just everything.
My favorite character, that is a hard one. I have multiple favorite characters depending on which book from the serie.

I read the first few books on my, sort of, kindle, but then it crashed :( So I never continued the series, but I really want to. I'm still waiting for an opportunity to buy the whole series in hardcover, so I can finally read them :)

Ahh you should definitely read them, they are so absolutely amazing. I have the paperback edition in a box set, the one with the dragon on the box, what I love about the edition is that at the beginning of every chapter it has these little cartoons that are absolutely hilarious! :) I think the hardcovers look beautiful as well, but some books are quite thick, especially the 5th, 6th and 7th, so bear in mind that they are heavy in your hand!

Jim Dale's narration is the best! I listen to it whenever I can

I have so many favourite characters, from Luna's quirkiness to Snape's entire complex story. For those who haven't read or haven't finished the series - do it. The story grows throughout the series in a way many other popular series don't seem to.

And yeah, I am a biiiig Harry Potter fan. I grew up with that boy and love rereading the books. I recently got the first and second illustrated one and cannot wait to read them again. I also rediscovered my love for HP when my little brother started reading them. I was so jealous that he could simply race through them, when I had to wait a year to get a new one.
I also experienced different feelings about many things now that I am an adult. I had two Harry Potter based university classes and you can definitely see how different the books are perceived once you are an adult. (When I watched the first movie with my brother I started crying, because it never occured to me, that Harry had no one during his childhood and was forced to live in that cupboard, without friends, or even a friendly word - as a kid you don't really think too much about it, which is totally fine!) I also had great fights with other students over many things during my classes and have a professor, who loves the HP universe! So... you could say that I am a Potterhead. :D

This is the newest edition, the covers are more fibrant, we got this one for a friend and he totally loved it! https://www.amazon.com/Harry-Potter-C...
And than both editions are also in hardcover, but than they are twice as expensive :( So it depends on what you are looking. Just go to Amazon and there are a ton of options!

I'm actually reading it right now for the very first time. I'm still on the first book but it does bring me back to my childhood because I only watched the first movie as a kid a lot

First of all, thanks for the recommendations, I will buy a box very, very soon! :)
I had one class that dealt with all things Harry Potter, we focused a big part of the class on how the HP universe changed our lives, but we also talked about fan culture and watched a lot of amazing videos. For an assignment, we had to provide something selfmade with a Harry Potter theme, we had a small celebration with self-made HP food and games, and had to write two essays: mine were about how much we love to hate Gilderoy Lockhart and the role playing community.
My other class focused on the topic of Essay Writing and my professor simply loves Harry Potter. Our teachers usually choose one book to work on during those classes and she chose HP, the first book. We had to act like we didn't knew the other books and dove into the first, trying to find small things we had overlooked. We also spent a lot of time talking about how JK Rowling introduced the reader to Harry's story, and it ended with another loooong essay. This time I wrote about evilness in Harry Potter, with a special look at Malfoy, Snape and Voldemort.
I hope that wasn't too detailed, but I loved those classes and our professor was so amazing and passionate about them, too!

Ohmygod no, that's not too detailed! That sounds amazing, I wish I had classes like that. The most Harry Potter I get in my classes is them being mentioned in passing unfortunately.

Same, we are not even allowed to use Harry Potter as a book for English in high school, because it is not a classic :(

What are your favorite moments in HP?
I love pretty much any quidditch scene, and also the patronuses!
And of course "There's no need to call me sir, professor."

There is so many fantastic moments in HP too many to chose from.
But as for my fave characters it's either Hermione as she's a strong kick arse independent women, she is the Glue thats hold the dynamic threesome together or Hagrid, he has a heart of gold and if I ever needed someone to have my back it would most Definetly be those 2.
But as for enchanting characters it would have to be Dobby the elf. he saves Harry so many times, he's charming and funny and enchanting.
love Harry potter.
has anyone watched or read fantastic beasts yet?
:-)
There are indeed to many awesome great Harry Potter moments!
But here are some of my favourites: I love the Dobby moments. He is just so cute and helpful to Harry. The tasks in the Goblet of Fire are fun as well! The characters of this series are so awesome and well developed. That is what really makes this series so great!

I don't know if I can accurately express just how much I love the Harry Potter series. The English language may not have the right words for it. The fourth book is my absolute favorite, as it was the first time I really felt the danger that Harry and co. were in. It was also the first time I felt like the magical world really was a WORLD spanning all of the continents and really encompassing people from the incredible variety of cultural groups we have on Earth.
Most of my favorite moments involve either McGonagall or Luna. Rowling really outdid herself with these two characters, I think, and the different ways each shows passion, strength, and intelligence.

I saw it in IMAX in December and looooved it. Wound up pre-ordering the movie so I could have it the day of release.

I like how real she made Umbridge, but oh goodness was she horrible. Great characterization, though, to be able to make someone so universally hated.

True. I can't think of one person who likes Umbridge. It shows JK Rowling is very talented!

As an English teacher, I declare that rule is ridiculous and pretentious.

I know right, but we only read books like: MacBeth, To kill a mockingbird, The catcher in the rye, The Bell jar and A doll's house. It is a pity, because most of the other children end up not reading the books, but if the books would have matched better with them, they would have read it. So in the end this solution does not give the result they are trying to achieve... (giving teenagers reasons to hate reading and books)

That book was a bunch of knife stabs, really. Whenever I think of Teddy Lupin, I go really sad... (Idk if you know it, the Remus Lupins have this song called Lullaby. It's from Tonks and Remus to Teddy ;___;)
Actually, I can't picture George doing "their thing" alone.
