Nay (4ukcats) LOL, you're moving on now! I'm getting ready to read a little before bed. Haven't read much today, but I'll prob finish in the morning since I'm at 70%.

I thought the next book was coming out really soon--didn't realize we have to wait 3 whole weeks!!

message 56: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments I only made it to 59% and (view spoiler) I didn't get a chance to read much during my daytime hours yesterday, then had a client dinner, and I may or may not have had a few too many grapefruit gin and tonics and was in no shape to read after I finally got home at 9:30 last night. I don't see much reading time in my day today since the client is still in town and we will be having mega-boring meetings all damn day, but hopefully I can get some good quality reading in tonight. I soooo don't want to put this book down, it's that good!!!

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Oh Nay....that's exactly what I fear is happening too. And that is just freaking tragic and I'll throw my Kindle and stomp my feet at the unfairness.

Ela | 4291 comments *sigh! Happy tears*

message 78: by Nay (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nay (4ukcats) I am SO happily surprised that it was so easy to follow. I was like you, Lisa--concerned that the fantasy would be so fantastical, with a ton of weird names and cryptic stuff thrown in that I couldn't keep up or I'd have to keep going back in my reading to try to figure out what she was trying to hint at.

Of course, there was some mystery to it, but I thought it was just enough to keep it interesting and give the reader those satisfying ah-ha! moments toward the end.

message 79: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments Are you done, Ela...or are those premature happy tears. I know I choked up a few times, just at the beauty of it all!!!

This is my second Amy Harmon book...both not in my typical genre, and both were incredible stories that I loved!! So, I'm gonna go with...she's just a fantastic author, and I'd read her shopping list if she published it. I have a few more of hers queued up, that I need to make it a point to get to!!

message 81: by Ela (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ela | 4291 comments Oh I was done....just made me happy to see you all's reactions!

I read:
Making Faces
The Law of Moses (The Law of Moses, #1)
A Different Blue

All five star reads!

message 83: by Nay (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nay (4ukcats) I'm pretty sure this is the only book of hers that I've read. Doesn't she mainly write YA? If so, that's probably why.

message 84: by Ela (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ela | 4291 comments Personally I think her books are more mature than YA.

message 85: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments From Sand & Ash was hers....that's the other one I read. Again, another genre (historical romance/saga) that I don't typically read. And I think the others might be more NA rather than YA...and from the ones I've captured on my TBR, they seem more "saga" type books....like read this blurb from Making Faces: Making Faces is the story of a small town where five young men go off to war, and only one comes back. It is the story of loss. Collective loss, individual loss, loss of beauty, loss of life, loss of identity. It is the tale of one girl's love for a broken boy, and a wounded warrior's love for an unremarkable girl. This is a story of friendship that overcomes heartache, heroism that defies the common definitions, and a modern tale of Beauty and the Beast where we discover that there is little beauty and a little beast in all of us.

message 86: by Ela (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ela | 4291 comments Stop,Lisa! I'll cry all over again! Although it has a hea!

message 87: by Nay (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nay (4ukcats) Omg--that's sounds awesome! I have that book, so why haven't I read it yet??? I also have A Different Blue and The Law of Moses, but I guess when I've gone back and considered reading them, I've seen how many people have shelved them as YA, and it's put me off.
