Aussie Readers discussion

I just looked at bookstr for the first time and lasted less than 5 secs on front page. The quizzes and what I suspect were meant to be enticing entry points to the site whizzed past way too quickly for me to be bothered to click and explore any further. It sounds as if this was a great source up til last year but clearly not now. I say-go ahead and request away in bulk please- and maybe they will see sense. At least you can post reviews elsewhere if not kept a copy.

I read on their Facebook page that they were no longer giving away advanced reading copies. I am think they started going downhill when they changed from The Reading Room to Bookstr.

You're right there Margot! Actually before that when they moved headquarters from Sydney to the US!!

Thanks for reaching out to us! We're sorry it has taken longer than expected to get everyone's bookshelves and reviews out, we closed the form on May 31st, and had to sort out some formatting issues to make sure everything was easily readable.

I've attached your reviews and bookshelf files here, and they are both compatible with Microsoft Excel. Please let me know if you have any difficulty opening them, or have any other questions regarding the exports in general. I would be more than happy to help you with them. If any of your friends are anxious about getting their reviews and shelves, please reassure them that they should be receiving them by the end of this week!

I'm also sorry to hear that you've been having difficulty logging in. There were problems with our transition that we didn't anticipate unfortunately, and some accounts weren't carried over properly so if you like I can get your account back online for you. I understand that the changes were very disappointing to some of our readers, especially those that have been with us from our The Reading Room days. It was an incredibly difficult decision for us (and was ultimately a pure business decision), as we are all readers here and understand how hard it can be to find a service that we like and are comfortable with that supports our love of reading.

I haven't checked the download of reviews etc yet to see if they are readable but you guys who don't have your reviews should have them by the end of this week (according to the email!!)

I got mine today too but haven't opened it to see how it is yet.

Maybe with a few complaints, they finally getting their acts together!

Oh be still my beating heart!! Bookster finally sent me my reviews!!! Now I can rest easy ;)

Guess what? 3 books arrived in the mail for today from Bookstr! No note or anything, but here they are: Safe: A Novel, The Right Side and Grief Cottage.
