Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Kait, I've read about half my picks so far and wanted to say thank you!! Some of them my library doesn't have of course. Only one of them was a DNF. I just couldn't do it. I'm about to start All the Bright Places

Just saw this - YAAAAY Fran!! SO glad you enjoyed this one! I was surprised because I usually don't like first person narratives, but this one was wonderful! Glad you liked it too :)

Sonja (sonjac) | 1364 comments Third book down, Heather Cam!
Thank you so much for recommending Wallbanger to me! I liked it - until the last few chapters, but overall enjoyed the entertainment of this book. So thank you for the recommendation!

Now for Outlander and The Duke Can Go to the Devil is on deck... might make it by next week...

Done:
Wallbanger (Cocktail, #1) by Alice Clayton Whispering Rock (Virgin River, #3) by Robyn Carr Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

I really liked A Week to Be Wicked (Spindle Cove, #2) by Tessa Dare ...
Colin's character was so much fun (and a bit of an @$$hole, but he comes a LONG way for Min - and I related to Min so much! Enjoy!

Cece | 12 comments Hi KarenH,

I've read the following 6 books from the list:

Naked in Death This is an amazing book. Thanks for making me finally read it. I ended up reading the next seven books in the series. ★★★★

Royally Screwed I liked this is a lot. ★★★★

Simply Irresistible I couldn't connect with the h. I liked the H and the town. ★★

Easy Interesting read. I liked the MCs and some of the supporting characters. Thankfully, it wasn't overly dramatic. ★★★★

Enforcer Not a bad read. ★★★

The Darkest Hour I loved this book. Those Kelly brothers are awesome. I'm definitely going to read the rest of the books in this series. Thank you for recommending it! ★★★★★

Mary-Megan | 2325 comments Carrie -
I'm sorry to admit, though, that I tried to read The Comfort of Lies but wasn't really getting into the book. I gave up after only 50 pages.

Disappointed after that, I'm happy to say that I enjoyed the next book I chose that was a new one you suggested. I just finished At the Water's Edge. I was hesitant to pick it up because of the mixed reviews, but I enjoyed it (getting it done in two days). I'm glad I took the chance and read it.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Pam | 1048 comments Hi Fran-
Finally read On the Island (On the Island, #1) by Tracey Garvis-Graves which has been recommended to me many times. As a teacher, I couldn't quite wrap my head around the teacher/student thing. I'm actually sorry they use that as a description because it stopped me from reading it and it is really not part of it at all. I really liked this book. I read it sitting in a hospital waiting room and it managed to distract me, which is always good. Thanks for helping get this off my massive TBR.

I'm sorry you found it disappointing but I'm glad you enjoyed the other.

message 213: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 987 comments Jojo, I've only manged to read one book from the list you suggested, there is still sometime. I had made a request for one of the other books at the library when the list was posted but it still hasn't came, I'm hoping it does before May is up.

But the one I did finish was Forged in Fire (Red-Hot SEALs, #1) by Trish McCallan loved it. Waiting on Untraceable (Tracers, #1) by Laura Griffin to come in.

message 214: by Sonja (last edited May 27, 2017 11:19AM) (new)

Sonja (sonjac) | 1364 comments 4/6 for me now. Duke was a nice quick read - esp when one stays up to 2am doing so... :D

Now for Outlander... if i can just patiently read it instead of cheating and watching the tv series... lol!!

Done:
The Duke Can Go to the Devil (Prelude to a Kiss, #3) by Erin Knightley Wallbanger (Cocktail, #1) by Alice Clayton Whispering Rock (Virgin River, #3) by Robyn Carr Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

message 215: by Shalini (new)

Shalini (shalinix1f618) | 17 comments Hi Rebecca,
I have finished three books from the list:
Outlander was an intresting read. I did not love the book but it was rather enjoying and beautifully detailed. Reading next books in the series.
Dead Until Dark is a book that i have read 50% a year ago but forgot to add to DNF. Now i just somehow finished it and i still do not like it.
Scars and Stripes good enough for a ten minute read.😅

message 216: by Sonja (new)

Sonja (sonjac) | 1364 comments 5/6 - Got another of my TBRs and then cheated and watched a couple episodes of Outlander... heh heh heh

Done:
Definitely Not Mr. Darcy by Karen Doornebos The Duke Can Go to the Devil (Prelude to a Kiss, #3) by Erin Knightley Wallbanger (Cocktail, #1) by Alice Clayton Whispering Rock (Virgin River, #3) by Robyn Carr Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

Elke (ejurca) | 1810 comments Stacie,

Got a 2nd pick in Wolf Unleashed (SWAT, #5) by Paige Tyler -it was really good!
going to try to get one more in.....it will have to be a quickie! ;)

message 218: by Nicole (new)

Nicole P | 3200 comments Hi Gozie,

Thanks so much for the picks this month! I managed to read 6 books from your recommendations.

Scottish Terrier
🐾 New: Capture Me by Anna Zaires (02/05) ★★★ - dark and wickedly delicious. This is a new author to me but I like the precis of the book. I'll be getting the other two books in the "series" because I'm curious to see what Lucas does with his prisoner and whether she'll break or not...
🐾 TBR: Stepbrother Dearest by Penelope Ward (14/05) ★★ - grateful to have this off my TBR list. It has confirmed that I'm not a fan of Penelope Ward unless she is writing with Vi Keeland. Typical storyline with the taboo factor. Far too much back and forth, to the point of annoyance. But at least it's done and dusted.

Wheaten Terrier
🐾 TBR: Any Time, Any Place by Jennifer Probst (05/05) ★★★ - loved delving back into the Pierce brothers lives. This book follows the youngest brothers story of love, forgiveness and understanding. I learnt a lot about woodwork and astronomy. I look forward to reading the next one in the series.

Toy Fox Terrier
🐾 TBR: Settling the Score by R.S. Grey (10/05) ★★ - way too much drama. Page after page I was like how the heck do they find to compete at the Olympics with all this drama in their lives. I enjoyed the other book in the series and thought this would be just as good. No siree. But at least it's off the TBR pile ☺
🐾 TBR: Hawk's Property by Chiah Wilder (30/05) ★ - This was not as enjoyable as I thought it would be. The way the motorcycle club members referred to woman was deplorable. Some of things that happened at their parties was disturbing. The back and forth between the two main MCs was irritating and ridiculous. I had high hopes for this since I enjoy MC themed books but not this one.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier
🐾 TBR: Ex Games by Stella Rhys (17/05) ★★★ - took me awhile to get into it but it was worth it in the end. I love the hate-to-love trope and this had added drama with the brothers. I would have preferred dual POV but it is what it is. Another one off my TBR list!

message 219: by Elke (new)

Elke (ejurca) | 1810 comments Stacie,

Sonja (sonjac) | 1364 comments DONE! Met my 6/6 Goal! *WOOT*
