I think it's up to you to track how much you earned.

Yes! He is becoming one of my favorites too. The only other one I read was The Great Zoo of China and I loved that one too.

ChrisP Poyner | 67 comments Does anyone else prefer a real book when they can get there hands on it rather than the ebook? I have been having less headaches and sleeping better when reading a physical copy. To qualify this statement I do have epilepsy and brain trauma.

Occaasionally! I never thought I would love my kindle but I do- it's so easy to bring it everywhere and with the lighting and ability to change font size it is just so convenient.... But I do love those physical books- the feel and the smell of the pages!

After I got used to using my ereader, I prefer ebooks. I prefer being able to adjust the size of the pitch.

I love my kindle for the convenience of it. More than reading physical books, I miss going to book stores and finding hidden treasures.

I prefer physical books while reading lengthier books. I don't know why. And yes! If physical books were as accessible as e-books, I'd definitely prefer physical books.

That's true for me too! I just get so lazy reading lengthy ebooks that I prefer to buy the physical copy.

Sreshtha Basu | 38 comments @Eunice - I know right?? At least you can track your progress. In a Kindle they show the percentage. But with lengthier books, it sometimes feels like you've been reading for hours but not really progressing much.

message 480: by Eunice (new)

Eunice | 666 comments Exactly! That was so on point with how I feel. I thought I was the only one who felt that way.

Sreshtha Basu | 38 comments I thought I was the only one too!! This is why I love Goodreads!!

@Ang - In preparation for the movie? I really want to read it too! How is it so far?

message 483: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shelld79) | 288 comments I also prefer to read a physical book when it is bigger because it's easier to see how far through it I am. With a kindle you get no satisfaction of physically seeing how far through a book you are other than the little percentage counter on the bottom.

message 484: by Alison (new)

Alison (a1ison74) | 2826 comments I'm not so sure about physical books. I love looking at them and holding them but these days I definitely prefer my ereader especially for longer books. Big books are just too cumbersome and heavy to cart around.

I also love the highlight and search functions as they mean I don't need to remember so much :)

Chris, I have none of your conditions, but I have constant brain chatter -- mostly internal conversation and/or song lyrics/music! I love print books! I need to hold a real paper & ink book. Love the weight, the feel, the smell. I've tried using ereaders, but do not like them at all. I only read library books now.

Sorry, guys this week has been hectic at work and I've been exhausted. I'm on holiday the week after next and just keep thinking of that - although that's one of the reasons why it's so hectic. Only managed to read 1 book.

I'm really enjoying it. I love what HBO has done with the series, just wish they would do more episodes like Starz has done with the Outlander series.

I thought about FB and twitter too. I had a twitter account for a couple of days before I closed it down and thought people post stupid and/or viscous things. I have gotten irritated with FB for the same thing and rarely check my page anymore.

I mostly only use Facebook for Messenger and for school-related stuff. And for greeting happy birthday to other people. I don't even bother with Twitter.

There are so many social media sites and apps these days. I thought of Snapchat too. Many of my classmates are so obsessed with keeping the streaks, but I don't even see what that point of it is when they usually just take selfies and post it.

I've been trying to talk myself into watching the movie, but I know I'll end up a blubbering mess

message 497: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shelld79) | 288 comments I liked it, except for the small parts that were very sad. They were expected though which made it a little easier to get through but I was still a mess. Most of it was surprisingly funny. I don't know if I'd have the strength to watch the movie though as I have a 12 year old beagle who is my first born and just the thought of losing her one day kills me.
