Kate (kilotangobravo) | 13 comments Hi! Would you like to find a read-alike for a TV show you've been binging? This could be the thread for you! I thought people could ask for suggestions and get recs, etc, etc.

It's a selfish urge on my part. I've been rewatching Chuck and can't find read-alike suggestions ANYWHERE. Please help?

The Lives of Tao has a bit of a Chuck vibe.

Trike | 11197 comments The book Nexus (and, I assume, the sequels) do the Chuck thing, but I didn't really like the book because the attempts at humor fell flat for me. YMMV

Gibson did this back in the day, with Neuromancer and the like, but those definitely do not have a Chuck vibe beyond the "uploading skills" thing every once in a blue moon.

There was also a comic book based on the show, so you'd be getting exactly those characters.

Kate (kilotangobravo) | 13 comments Thanks for the recs! Nexus, in particular, looks very Chuck.

Christos | 219 comments Does anyone know a good book to read for a Rick and Morty or Red Dwarf fan other than Hitchhikers Guide (I am personally not a fan of that book)?

John (Taloni) Taloni (johntaloni) | 5196 comments John Scalzi's The Android's Dream has a strong sarcastic wit. It could be too in-jokey if your friend hasn't read much SF.

I also recommend Discworld although that is more sarcastically uplifting in many particulars. Pratchett's wit is supreme.
