Julian Bauer (julianbauer) | 6 comments This is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Most people are aware of its consequences. But how many know what specific actions were taken by the Roman Church to reform and become the vibrant institution it is today? Why do most Christian religions disavow the anger of the past and gather around Christ's call for love and unity? Could it be the secular world we face together?
Julian Bauer in his fifth historical novel takes us five centuries into the past and tells us through the eyes of one Milan participant how the Roman Church faced the four challenges of its day: Luther, a Muslim invasion, dissension in the New World, and immorality among some of the clergy.
Saints and sinners are all found in this story of the Catholic Reformation. A wonderful read and worthy of further discussion. See callbauer.org for additional information and links to Amazon for the Hidden Saint and Julian's other works.

Rod Horncastle Wow, sure would be fun to see the Catholics attempt to reform. It's easier to just make new denominations.

John McCann | 308 comments Sounds like interesting history. Indulgences are reformed. As for the future of the Catholic church; Irvin Baxter (www.endtime.com) has some facts about what is happening today with the Catholic church of Rome and the European Union reinventing the Holy Roman Empire from 800 AD. The leader of the EU could be the antichrist and the Pope could be the false prophet. I love Irvin Baxter's magazine. He writes well and just tells the facts.
