Hero's theory is very interesting and the way that Harris incorporated his writing into the story was interesting. It provided good insight into the type of person who could commit such terrible crimes.

It may be that the political commentary was part-and-parcel of that particular work mentioned in this Harris book, but I don't think an effective,sane political work to be shared to persuade society would have used this kind of theme, nor would it have encouraged the extremes of behavior if that was a metaphorical work.
I'm very familiar with de Sade but never have read any of his works. As the term "sadism" is derived from his name, that told me enough:)
