LOL, no! In Connie Willis' Doomsday Book the time-travelling historian was advised to get her nose cauterized in preparation for a trip to the middle ages. Great book, by the way.

I did love the way that they used flowers and spices to clean their skins, though!

I'm nearly through this part. The part sizes are very uneven so it did take me a long time to get through Part 1.

I do feel like I'm living every experience with Katherine.

This part really carried me along with Katherine's story. Dying to get to Hana's research thread to find out what is fact, what is fiction!

Glad you are enjoying it, Carol! Part II was where I really got hooked.

From what I've found so far the book seems to be really accurate. Of course no one really knows about the emotional side (that Seton paints so brilliantly) but there is no doubt that she did her research.
