We have a birthday in The Parlor. J in June. So Birthday PI gets to lead pick of the month. J, take it away. Post your picks and...you know what to do. Have at it! :-)

message 3: by J (new)

J This is going to sound a little strange but I don't really have a pick right now. Normally I would be putting up the newest Diva Book but apparently Krista Davis is changing publishers and the next Diva book won't be out till next year (SIGH!). So I would like to propose something a little different: what say the PIs suggest some titles with a spring/summer theme and I will pick one.
Absent that, I would suggest an older Diva one which takes place at that time of year and centers around Sophie's sister's wedding.

J, a few weeks ago you mentioned British Manor Murder and I thought it a good pick. I'll toss that one in for starters.

British Manor Murder (Lucy Stone Mystery, #23) by Leslie Meier

message 6: by J (new)

J Yes Tina… I mentioned that I was reading it but that I wouldn't put it up as my picK.

message 7: by PugMom (new)

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments I read it a while ago. It wouldn't be my pick but I'd definitely discuss it if it was chosen.

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments I'll go back and look at some from last month's suggestions.

message 9: by PugMom (new)

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments There were some good suggestions last month:

In Milady's Chamber (John Pickett Mysteries, #1) by Sheri Cobb South
Dying In the Wool (Kate Shackleton, #1) by Frances Brody
The Semester of Our Discontent (Lila Maclean Academic Mystery #1) by Cynthia Kuhn

I will be reading these two soon:

The Secrets of Wishtide (A Laetitia Rodd Mystery #1) by Kate Saunders
The Book Club Murders by Leslie Nagel

message 10: by J (new)

J No worries Tina - just didn't want to get the wrong title posted!

I may have found one that fits the bill but will wait to see what the PIs come up with before making my final decision.

Jill Tool | 992 comments Yews with Caution (A Flower Shop Mystery, #19) by Kate Collins J don't you like the flower shop mysteries? This one comes out the 30th of May, so if you guys want to read it you can order it and hopefully be here by the first of June for you

This one looks to have a summery theme about it. The Deep End (The Country Club Murders #1) by Julie Mulhern And it's the first in the series.

I'll go along with Birthday Mystery Woman and majority's pick.

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments Oh yeah, Tina, I think I mentioned that one last month. Looks good.

message 14: by J (new)

J Thanks for all the suggestions PIs! Some interesting ones out there.
I think that I have made my choice but will hold off another day or so before posting it in case there are any more suggestions.

If you all want to do a secondary read, please go ahead without me...have a lot on my plate in June and don't think I would do justice to a second read.

I believe you did, Nicole.

Remember a seaside mystery by Mary Daheim or Dahiem...forget spl. Anyway, it was a good mystery but it's a while ago so I'm not sure how easy it'd be for us to secure copies. Would've nom'd that one as well but may be hard to get.

Here it is. Earlier printing had a different cover. Current one is a little silly but I don't recall the series being stupid silly just some comical aspects to it. Anyway, I always loved this series. Might be something for all to look into either here or on our own. But this is the seaside type book I noted earlier.

Dune to Death Dune to Death (Bed-and-Breakfast, #4) by Mary Daheim

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments I can't remember if I read this one but I do love the series!

I would be on board with the Mary Daheim book. I've always wondered about her stuff, but never read any.

message 21: by PugMom (new)

PugMom (nicoleg76) | 2014 comments I've read a bunch of her books but sadly before I started tracking on Goodreads so not sure which ones!

I'd be on board for a re-read just to see if my tastes have changed much o'r the years. Whatever J picks.

Nice long weekend, I can get to store to secure my copy of something good. ;-)
