Lauren-Marie Brouwer | 2 comments Hey guy's,
I wondering if any of you have used Smashwords to publish and if so how did you like the experience? I'm wondering if this is the right direction for me to go in when my book is completed.

Mahir Salih | 13 comments I have self published a novel. Getting an agent or publishing via the traditional route is getting very difficult while self publishing is straightforward. But you need to do it yourself including the publicity. Beware from publishing house who may charg you a lot and the majority of the royalties goes to them.DIY can be profitable but you need to do all the process yourself

Kate Kulig (katekulig) | 15 comments Smashwords has the advantage of getting your work into a lot of distribution channels, including Overdrive, which many libraries use. Their formatting guide is a bitch. I pay someone to do my Smashwords formatting. They pay via PayPal, and they get the tax info to you on time.

Lauren-Marie Brouwer | 2 comments Thanks! I'm really having a hard time choosing which direction to go in and needed some advice from those who have used it.

Philip (phenweb) | 26 comments Smashwords formatting, their copyright insistence and their sometimes banning of other links (e.g. back catalogue) are all a pain. For me it has not been worth the effort.
