There's all the online magazines too, many of which are free, if you have a tablet you can take with you to your various hidey-holes.

I like to have a couple of main books that I'm reading when I have plenty time to switch off, but I also like to have a few shorts that I know I can rattle off during those cigarette breaks, toilet breaks, hiding in the garage so the kids don't think I'm home yet breaks etc.
Currently I'm working through HP Lovecrafts collection but would love some short science fictions as well.
