The group has grown so much that it's making it more challenging to do The What's coming up next month. So would appreciate you all helping us out.

If you have a Buddy Read scheduled for July can you please list it below with link to book and start date. My buddy reads for July listed below so you can see what is required. Check that a fellow buddy reader hasn't already listed the book. This will help the mods do up the What's Coming Up thread later in the month.

Thank you all.
Angela

Thanks Tammie, Scott and Hacen. No need to list a book if it's already been listed by another buddy reader. :-)

Main event there are so many, maybe we can create these lists a few months out and just add a step to the thread creating by updating these too? That might be too involved, but I'd be Game.

Because there are so many. I'm not sure where "main event" came from

What I normally do is set it up around the 20th of the month as then it's pretty set what is coming up for the next month. Then check that the books are on the bookshelf. Add them if they aren't. Bump threads / add start date if there's been a bit of conversation since a start date was first discussed, plus sometimes visible threads disappear if they haven't been used for a while, so by commenting it makes them visible again.

I'm open to a more effective way if you have one. We could do it further in advance if people wanted? Personally I find it's easy just to do the preceding month and just do the whole thread at once?

I just started this thread to make it easier to put the thread together and save having to do a big search next week :-).

Maybe we need our own mods group given how the group is ballooning. It's a pity there isn't a chat function sometimes.

Oh okay, I missed the fact that this wasn't the main thread for that. Your system sounds fine, I was thinking relying on people to comment might cause you more work going forward for some reason. If it ain't broke...

It was easier to just copy and paste out of my list.

As long as the mods are diligent in doing the bookshelf correctly you should be able to order by start date and just select those for the next month. From the bookshelf if you right mouse on view activity and select open in new tab (or window if you prefer) you'll be able to see the folders where this topic is being discussed to make sure there is one.

We'll have to come up with a fun mod punishment if you get caught missing steps. Like Margret would have to read 50 shades of gray. :) Careful, you and I might get assigned Name of the Wind.........:(

That's because I haven't read these messages yet.. hmm what shall they be...

Mine could be anything with pecs on the cover or shifter-romance related.

Jenna- hmm which wheel of time book had a 100+ page prologue? I wanna say the Gathering Storm

Scott and Angela would be some sort of Kvothe and Ambrose erotic fan fiction.

Nikki I'm not sure because she wants to read a book called "Touched by an Alien" or something, and I feel like there's nowhere she won't go.

I gave up on WoT after book one so that is double the amount of torture - giant prologue AND WoT. I promise I'll be a good mod.

Dark Tower start to finish.

For Margret we would have to go further by listening to the samples of erotic audiobooks where the female narrator really sluts it up with the husky overnight DJ voice. My dream would be her headphone disconnect and it starts blaring out at the supermarket.

LOL!

Bones!, Spok! replaced by Skin! Tongue!

I think Leonard Nimoy could read it in his monotone way and Margret would still freak out.

message 32: by Solseit (new)

Solseit | 1516 comments I just realized I should have posted here sooner! Anyhow, I will participate in reads for books that are listed by other group members - I understand I do not need to detail them.

The only additional read might be in the Greed Rider series if the group continues to read the series!
