~KarenH~ | 11348 comments Hey, Tink!

Just a little advance warning - I may not get to your picks until Monday. I have a bunch of family coming for the weekend to help with some painting and other chores that need to be done, so don't know if I'll be able to sneak away to work on them. I'll try if time allows, but if not, it's not because I've forgotten about you! =P

MountainKat | 31601 comments Oh boy, I get to pick for KathyD!! That is always fun, but so hard to narrow down! Just to let you know, it might take a little while to get them done. I'm typing one handed and on pain meds after getting my shoulder repaired, so I'm going to take it slow and hopefully come up with some good ones for you. =)

Whoa! Thanks Fran! These look great :) Hoping to get to quite a few this month and looking forward to checking out the books that are new :D

Heather❀Kiss The Pages❀ | 19 comments Hi Enqi, hope you enjoy some of these books

1. 1st in a series and has magical elements
TBR: The Bird and the Sword
Amy Harmon is one of my favorite authors and I loved this book. It's book 1 in this series but can be read as a standalone with no cliffhanger.

New: The Golden Dynasty

2. Character who needs saving
TBR: Broken
This was such a great story. I love men in uniform and heroes with disabilities. This book had both!

New:King of Hearts
Talk about a tortured hero! Book 3 of an amazing series. Can be read as a standalone.

3. Shapeshifter
New: Feral Sins
This was a really fun and sexy book to read. It's a good mix of erotica, paranormal and snarky humor.

4. Enemies to lovers theme
New: Perfection
This was lol hilarious book. It's book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone.

5. Long book
TBR: The Bronze Horseman
Holy Moly! Absolute must read! One of my favorite books of all times!! Perfection! All the stars in the world. Of course this is book 1 of 3 and all must be read. These are not standalones. They are all pretty long but by the end you will wish it never ends.

6. Previous recommendation
TBR: Thoughtless
This is one of the books that really made the New Adult genre as popular as it is now. I have a love-hate relationship with this book. My emotions were all over the place while reading this.

7. Epic ending
New: The Sea of Tranquility
This ending blew me away. Read this a few years ago and still in awe. It's YA/high school but very mature characters and content.

8. Historical setting
New:Transcendence
You can't get more historical than this. It's a caveman romance book and FYI there is no verbal dialogue in this book. So if you are a completely sane person, you will probably have zero interest in reading this. I read this book just cause I was bored one day but I'm so glad I did. This is one one of the most underrated love stories ever. It was phenomenal! You would have to read it on blind faith.

New: The Bride

The Bird and the Sword (The Bird and the Sword Chronicles, #1) by Amy Harmon The Golden Dynasty (Fantasyland, #2) by Kristen Ashley Broken (Redemption, #1) by Lauren Layne Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack, #1) by Suzanne Wright Perfection (Neighbor from Hell, #2) by R.L. Mathewson The Bronze Horseman (The Bronze Horseman, #1) by Paullina Simons Thoughtless (Thoughtless, #1) by S.C. Stephens The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay Transcendence by Shay Savage The Bride (Lairds' Fiancées, #1) by Julie Garwood

Nicole P | 3200 comments Hi Kait,

🦉 TBR: The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
🦉 TBR: Seven Kinds of Hell by Dana Cameron
🦉 New: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout - another book on your TBR and the only book I could think of with a dark cover and had some paranormal storyline (I'm so sorry about a lack of paranormal recommendations - they're not my forte).

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 987 comments Hi Kaizen Kitty I have to admit picking for you was not any easy thing to do, your tbr didn't really have books that I know or and is very small (i have thousands on mine lol) and finding books to work with each task took some time. But I've done it. I hope you find something you will like to read.

🏰 Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - The book that started it all and the young boy whose name everyone knows are celebrating their 20th anniversary this summer! Cast your first spell and recommend a book that is…
🦉 first in a series, features a famous character OR has magical elements

Tbr: Watership Down (Watership Down #1) by Richard Adams
New: Heist Society (Heist Society, #1) by Ally Carter

🏰 Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - Rumor has it that the Chamber of Secrets has been reopened and the creature that lives inside is trying to kill some of the students. Luckily for us Professor Lockhart, the new defense against the dark arts teacher, bestselling author and the five times winner of Witch Weekly's most charming smile, is quite accomplished and can teach us how to defend ourselves. Cornish pixies? I’m sure you know how to handle those on your own while recommending a book where...
🦉 the plot involves a character who needs saving, features a unique character OR a book you wish you’d written

TBR: The Only Boy by Jordan Locke
New: The Story of Beautiful Girl by Rachel Simon

✨🏰 Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - A dangerous murderer has escaped Azkaban! Aurors and the Ministry of Magic are on the case so not to worry. Maybe they could investigate the howling that happens around full moon as well, although I’m sure it’s just one of Hagrid’s new creatures. Make more time in the day and recommend a book that…
🦉 features a ‘bad’ boy/girl, features a shapeshifter OR is a retelling

TBR: The Silence of the Lambs (Hannibal Lecter, #2) by Thomas Harris
New: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson

✨🏰 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - Students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang are pouring into Hogwarts and Dumbledore has an important announcement for the start-of-term feast. Nitwit! Blubber! Dragons! Oddment! Tweak! Thank you and please recommend a book that is…
🦉 set in a European country, has an enemies to lovers theme or similar OR has a dragon/fiery character

TBR: The Castrato by Joyce Pool
New: Dealing with Dragons (Enchanted Forest Chronicles, #1) by Patricia C. Wrede

✨🏰 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Something is going on during those secret, behind closed doors meetings that the adults are having. It might be a little dangerous considering they’re invented by pranksters but try out a pair of Extendable Ears and listen in for a book recommendation that…
🦉 features law enforcement or a private detective, is humorous OR is a long book

TBR: War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
New: Adam by Ted Dekker

✨🏰 Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - Open up your potions books to page 45. It was kind of a previous student to leave their tips and tricks in the margins! Add an ingredient or two, test out a new spell and recommend a book that…
🦉 features nobility, a book that was previously recommended to you OR a good vs. evil theme

TBR: Oroonoko by Aphra Behn
New: Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

✨🏰 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - The end has come and it’s time to make a stand against you-know-who. Remember that your friends are with you whatever happens and recommend a book that…
🦉 has an epic ending to either the series or book, a dark cover OR features wonderful secondary characters

TBR: The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
New: A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses, #1) by Sarah J. Maas

✨🏰 Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - Something is wreaking havoc in New York City! Could it truly be a coincidence that Newt Scamander has arrived at the same time and accidentally set loose several strange and exotic creatures? Read the manuscript of his book and recommend a book that is…

Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop It sounds like she needs saving, was recommended to me for this challenge and I look forward to it (TBR)

🦉 features a ‘bad’ boy/girl, features a shapeshifter OR is a retelling
Swan and the Bear (Furry United Coalition, #2) by Eve Langlais - TBR with shifters.
A Kiss at Midnight (Fairy Tales, #1) by Eloisa James - TBR Sounds like a Cinderella retelling to me.

🦉 set in a European country, has an enemies to lovers theme or similar OR has a dragon/fiery character
My Life From Hell (The Blooming Goddess Trilogy #3) by Tellulah Darling - TBR - sounds like a strong heroine
Vicious (Sinners of Saint, #1) by L.J. Shen Enemies to lovers - a favorite theme of mine.....also has a total bad boy. This book was a complete surprise to me, I thought I'd hate it. (New)

🦉 features law enforcement or a private detective, is humorous OR is a long book
Heiress, P.I. by Amanda Mahan - TBR I think the title sums it up!
Something About You (FBI/US Attorney, #1) by Julie James - NEW - FBI agents

🦉 features nobility, a book that was previously recommended to you OR a good vs. evil theme
Persephone (Daughters of Zeus, #1) by Kaitlin Bevis - counting goddesses in nobility! (TBR)

🦉 set in New York, has a historical setting OR is a new release
The Scribe (Irin Chronicles, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter - does an ancient race count?

Wow, we have a lot of books in common. So many it was difficult to find some new recs for you, so I hope you do enjoy them.

Are you really reading 254 books or does your currently reading shelf stand for something else? Because if you are, I need to know your secret. :)

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone: Howling at the Moon by Karen MacInerney is an interesting look at how being a werewolf can affect your everyday life. Or check out the vampire hiding out on a wedding cruise and doing his best to Don't Bite the Bridesmaid by Tiffany Allee.

Howling at the Moon (Tales of an Urban Werewolf, #1) by Karen MacInerney Don't Bite the Bridesmaid (Sons of Kane #1) by Tiffany Allee

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets: First we have the recently divorced, out of shape mom who finds out she has a destiny to save the world in Huntress. Then we get a teenager who discovers she might just be supernatural in Valkyrie Rising by Ingrid Paulson

Huntress (Grace Murphy, #1) by Nicole Hamlett Valkyrie Rising (Valkyrie, #1) by Ingrid Paulson

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: Oooh, you can start one of Ilona Andrews latest series with Burn for Me where a PI gets forced to take a case way over her head. Or check out the town settled by shapeshifters who hire a sheriff without telling him the secret in Shifting Dreams by Elizabeth Hunter.

Burn for Me (Hidden Legacy, #1) by Ilona Andrews Shifting Dreams (Cambio Springs, #1) by Elizabeth Hunter

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Destiny Kills by Keri Arthur has one of the best starting paragraphs to hook your interest. I really enjoyed The Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff, but it is very confusing at the start, so you have to stick with it.

Destiny Kills (Myth and Magic #1) by Keri Arthur The Enchantment Emporium (Gale Women, #1) by Tanya Huff

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix: Get ready for some kooky characters and lots of humor as a werewolf has to go back home to help solve a mystery and takes her gay vampire BFF with her in Ready to Were by Robyn Peterman. Or put on "Hotel California" and check out Spellbound in Seattle by Garthia Anderson where calling in a wizard to remove a stain in the rug leads to an adventure.

Ready to Were (Shift Happens, #1) by Robyn Peterman Spellbound in Seattle by Garthia Anderson

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: I was surprised how much I loved The Deal by Elle Kennedy as I'm not a big fan of sports romances, but the characters were amazing. I really enjoyed the concept of Satan's army being based on the 7 sins in Every Demon Has His Day by Cara Lockwood.

The Deal (Off-Campus, #1) by Elle Kennedy Every Demon Has His Day (Demon, #1) by Cara Lockwood

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Lick by Kylie Scott was great, but introduced my favorite member of the band, Mal, who gets the lead in book 2. This is a kid's book, but I absolutely adored it. A 12 year old girl shows up to answer the add for a wicked witch to run the castle in Castle Hangnail by Ursula Vernon.

Lick (Stage Dive, #1) by Kylie Scott Castle Hangnail by Ursula Vernon

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Off to Be the Wizard by Scott Meyer has an interesting concept (learning there is a computer file that covers every aspect of everyone's life) and seems like it is heading in a familiar direction, but then... Or if you like the show "Sex in the City" image what it would be like if the characters were all demons in Succubus in the City by Nina Harper.

Off to Be the Wizard (Magic 2.0, #1) by Scott Meyer Succubus in the City (Succubus, #1) by Nina Harper

Hello! We have a lot of the same romance in common so I did my best picking out new to you books. They are a little different from what you normally read I think, but I hope you find something you like. :)

HP & the Philosopher's Stone: Pride Mates (Shifters Unbound, #1) by Jennifer Ashley or, of course, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter, #5) by J.K. Rowling Both are on your TBR list. First pick is the first in the series and my favorite so far, and the second pick features all sorts of magic and is the first of the Harry Potter books to make me cry.

HP & the Chamber of Secrets: Brighter Than the Sun (KGI, #11) by Maya Banks Another from your TBR, and I'm pretty sure someone will need saving in this book.

HP & the Prisoner of Azakaban: Jungle Freakn' Bride (Freakn' Shifters, #5) by Eve Langlais Shifters! From your TBR! Also I don't know why I gave up on this series, but I need to get back into it.

HP & the Goblet of Fire: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah Takes place in France, and is new to you. This book kept me up late to finish it. Really good.

HP & the Order of the Phoenix: New York to Dallas (In Death, #33) by J.D. Robb Detectives/law enforcement and from your TBR

HP & Half Blood Prince: A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin New to you with lots of nobility and good vs evil but with some definite blurred lines on good vs evil

HP & the Deathly Hollows: The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson New to you. Hell of a book and hell of an ending. I recommend this book to anyone who will listen lol.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters, #1) by Juliet Marillier New to you with historical setting.

Enjoy!

Totally true, Heather! This one was a little hectic (try to put 14 5-yos together and tell me chaos doesn't naturally follow!), but it was leaps and bounds better than previous parties we've done. Varsha Ramakrishnan | 9 comments Hi Nicole!

We don't really have much overlap in terms of what we've read, which can be a good or a bad thing, depending on how you look at it. There isn't much here from your to-read and I've tried to stick to what you told me. Let me know what you think! :)

1. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Her Mad Hatter (Kingdom, #1) by Marie Hall
Her Mad Hatter

jenny (ynnej405) | 353 comments Hi Sonja,

Here are my picks for you. We only have a few books in common (but rated those quite similar!). Unfortunately, I don't read a lot of historical romance but I tried to find a few new to you historical romances as well as some contemporary romances you might like. I hope you find something you enjoy.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone - recommend a book that is…
first in a series, features a famous character OR has magical elements
TBR: The Edge of Never (The Edge of Never, #1) by J.A. Redmerski (first in a series) - it's also on my TBR, so I had to pick it ;-)
NEW: Lick (Stage Dive, #1) by Kylie Scott (features a famous character and first in a series)

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - recommend a book where...
the plot involves a character who needs saving, features a unique character OR a book you wish you’d written
TBR: Wives Of War by Soraya M. Lane (as the main characters are nurses, there should also be a character that needs saving) - sound intriguing!
NEW: How to Fall in Love by Cecelia Ahern (character needs saving)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - recommend a book that…
features a ‘bad’ boy/girl, features a shapeshifter OR is a retelling
TBR: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, #1) by Seth Grahame-Smith (retelling)
NEW: Heartless (Amato Brothers, #1) by Winter Renshaw (features a "bad" boy)

set in a European country, has an enemies to lovers theme or similar OR has a dragon/fiery character
TBR: Because of Miss Bridgerton (Rokesbys, #1) by Julia Quinn (set in a European country)
NEW: The Hating Game by Sally Thorne (enemies to lover theme) – It’s still on my TBR but I heard a lot of good things about it!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - listen in for a book recommendation that…
features law enforcement or a private detective, is humorous OR is a long book
TBR: Outlander (Outlander #1) by Diana Gabaldon (long book)
TBR: 15th Affair (Women's Murder Club #15) by James Patterson (features law enforcement detective)

features nobility, a book that was previously recommended to you OR a good vs. evil theme
TBR: Any Duchess Will Do (Spindle Cove, #4) by Tessa Dare (features nobility)
NEW: The Secret Wife by Gill Paul (features nobility)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - recommend a book that…
has an epic ending to either the series or book, a dark cover OR features wonderful secondary characters
TBR: Surviving Raine (Surviving Raine, #1) by Shay Savage (dark cover) - heard good things about this one!
NEW: It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover (epic ending)

Thank you so much for the wonderful picks! Wow, only 45?! Well, your picks look awesome and I can't wait for July to start!
And thanks :P I had too much fun creating the picking rules etc. I was pretty pleased with myself for 'a book you wish you'd written' for Professor Lockhart.
