Never fear Frank! Books do come up again for buddy reads :). There's a couple of books there I can see are on their second time around as a buddy read.

I'd suggest flailing and panicking, but that hasn't seemed to work well for me lately lol. It physically hurts not joining some of these - too many good ones at once!!

Agreed Niki, I always see something on the list that's been on my TBR for ages and want to join, but just know I can't. Meaning you The Fifth Season!

Not sure if that qualifies as a good or bad way to start off in a group.

CAN'T WAIT FOR WAY OF KINGS!!!!!!!
Okay now that I got July is going to be fun

Thanks Angela I meant to update the thread and spaced.

No problem Scott :-). I wish there was some way with a thread like this one that mods could be authorised to change to change the main post.

I will not - and it is a painful decision actually - join the Eye of the World even if I wanted to tackle the series. I will do it at a later stage but I will some day!

Well, The Eye of the World is the main one here for me. I'm looking forward to beginning our great WoT journey!
If I can grab The Legion of Flame I will definitely be all over that. Might be later in the month when I get to hop in on it, so we'll have to see how things go.
I'm due a Way of Kings re-read, but I might leave that out for now. A combination of these three epic books in one month might just burn me out :)
Stormfront is an interesting one - I might hop in on that for something easy. I read the first three Dresden books aaages ago and still have them on my shelf, so I might just get that series going as something light to break up the heavier stuff.
The Fifth Season is also an interesting one. I have it sitting on my Kindle and haven't read any of Jemisin's stuff yet, so I might go for that if the mood takes me at the end of the month.

The Way of Kings is my favorite book so far, by far! I would suggest it!
Depending on how quickly the library purchases the Legion of Flame I may be in the same boat as you Sean. It's going to be a fairly large buddy read so it'll be fun!

Eye of The World
The Republic of Thieves
The Novice
The Way of Kings
Curse of the Chalion (we'll see)
Legion of Flame will have to wait since I have not read the first book. Have been apprehensive since I read Ryan's first trilogy which stated off fantastic then petered out by book three.
Definitely no petering in Draconis Memoria!
Im joining many of those reads too - see you there. :)

See you in the BR's for July, looking forward to it.

Too many good choices all at once!
This is on my TBR soon list too....

I cannot recommend it highly enough and is probably one of the best books I've read so far (for the bazillion time I know) so enjoy and yes while its slow and takes awhile to get going it gets good with the characters and setting so don't cut your losses just yet.
It's like a full on English meal there's a lot on the plate and it looks intimidating but once you found your groove you'll start enjoying it and by the time your done you want more

I've just bought Waking fire today and while I have some guilt I may jump into this without reading blood song which is kind of painful to be honest but if it is this good then I'll have a go at it haven't read a full on dragon story yet and I hope to change that here

I actually never read Blood Song but I started with The Waking Fire. The books are absolutely different in setting and I was so impressed by The Waking Fire. Just impressive! I am waiting for The Legion of Flame to be delivered and I cannot wait to continue with the series!
As for Malice, I loved the book and the series. I just find the "simplicity" of the idea very well executed. Appealing story - sure, a bit slow at the beginning but wasn't also the Fellowship of the Ring or A Game of Thrones? -, great characters (one in particular, I was an absolute fan of!), use of untapped fantasy elements. I just found the book and the series well done!

I enjoyed malice a great deal and look forward in continuing the series.

The audio book for Malice sucked. I need to eventually read the other books but haven't been able to get myself to do so. The narrator is just all over the place with his accents and several voices he choice are just flat out annoying.
