The Sword and Laser discussion

I just finished reading All You Need is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, after seeing Edge of Tomorrow, and absolutely loved the story of the book. (Moreso than the movie). However, It was my first time reading that kind of a book in that subgenre before, as I tend to stick to the more classic sword and lasers, so I don't really know how to go about looking for similar titles. The fact that I ended up reading this one was more of a fluke that anything else. I'm looking for a recommendation of an author or specific book that fits into the same subgenre, or has a style that is similar.
