C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4474 comments You have until the 27th of June to post a poem and from the 28th to around the 2nd of July, we’ll vote for which one we thought was best!

Please post directly into the topic and not a link. Please don’t use a poem previously used in this group. Only one submission per person is allowed.

Your poem can be of any length!

This week’s topic is: Into the Unknown

Thanks goes to Garrison for the suggestion!

The rules are pretty loose. You could write a poem about anything that has to do with the subject/photo but it must relate to the topic somehow.

Most of all have fun!

Poet : Edward Davies

Plummet like a lemming
From a height too great to measure
A terrible falling sensation
Instant fear and pleasure
Adrenalin rushes throughout
Your every vein and bone
As finally you plunge and leap
Into the great unknown

message 3: by Raya (new)

Raya (petrichorblue) A dream

The whisper of the sirens was his guide
The sea - a vast and mystic wonder
His ship was half destroyed,
but on death he did not ponder.

Wherever he was going it was not to be for a mortal's sight
Still his heart was drumming and his hands shook
His eyes watered at the curious inscription on the explorer's book
He was to become a god of might, a titan
All he had to do was to continue on, and fight

*Thoughts welcome.*

Skeleton fingers
beckon me
A gentle glow guides the way
hissing whisepers say my name
An invitation
I can't turn away
The sign reads:
"Welcome to your dreams"
I step into the unknown
Bare trees welcome me
Darkness enfolds in arms of night
I fade
