Let's talk about summer reading! I'm curious whether any of you vary your reading habits over the summer. Do you switch to "beach reads"? And what really are beach reads? Participate in the Infinite Jest read-along? I talk about it on the last two podcasts, but this summer I'm tackling the books from the syllabus of Junot Diaz's class on world building.

Love the podcast, and I'm always happy to hear what other people are reading, for ideas for my own upcoming book list.

Thanks (re podcast)! I don't usually modify my reading habits, but I guess I was inspired. The downside of my declaring that I'm going to read X books over X period of time is that I almost always change my mind or life gets in the way :-) Lynn wrote: "Since I work full time and my children are grown, my reading habits don't really change much from season to season.

Scarlet (scarls17) | 19 comments I always feel like I will have more time to tackle more books, but then the heat makes me want to do nothing. I told myself, though, that I'm going to work on some of the books I own instead of acquiring new ones.

Stephanie (stephanie87) | 17 comments I change my reading habits for two weeks in the summer when we go to my parents house. I can then ignore my children and tackle stuff that I would not have the attention span to do with kids running around. Last summer I read Little Women and March along with a couple other classic books. Yes I know March isn't a classic but it went with Little Women! Other than those two weeks, and if we do a beach trip which is not often, I just read what I can when I can. I have no clue when I will decide which classics I will read this July...any suggestions?

Scarlet (scarls17) | 19 comments So far I have failed at my goal to read the books I own. I'm still too addicted to ARCs.
