11811 (Eleven) (11811) | 1561 comments My latest recommendation by Kasia, Graham Masterson's The House That Jack Built, landed at number 666 on my tbr list. She then took advantage of the situation by informing me that 666 on her list was Naomi's Roomwhich is a vicious competitor in this latest incident. I've never read it but premise alone makes it a threat to my new top spot. We can deal with that later.

What's #666 on your TBR list?

I'm very excited to see what everyone will dig up from their list, and if they didn't pass that number yet then it's the perfect time to add more books :)

Myself, thank you for mentioning :) - Naomi's Room by Jonathan Aycliff... which I will be reading for sure, I remember many people in here talking about it fondly.

You need to catch up man. Overestimate a little, or in my case, a lot.

I don't know when my read list was outpaced by my tbr list but it was recently. It's nearly unrealistic at this point but still gives me lots of options :0

Cathie (cathiebp2) | 220 comments Neither have I...will be weird though to see what the #666 title will be.

Yay! The author alone provides you a Golden Membership in the 666 club.

I only have one. My organizational skills are lacking to say the least.

I have yet to read an Everson novel I enjoyed which separates me from most of my HA associates. I'm determined to someday like one of his books.

message 17: by Bill (new)

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments I've liked all of his stuff so far, Eleven. Can't please everybody's tastes though. There are a few authors that a lot of folks seem to love that I just don't care for.

I hate that. I feel like there is something I should be enjoying that I'm not enjoying. He's in the same 'circle' of every other author I love but something still refuses to click.

I read Siren and The 13th.

I may give him one more try though. I bought Covenant because of the Stoker thing so it's already prominent on my list.

To be clear, I've not read this book (or anything else by Everson). I just thought the title and cover image were a good fit for the #666 slot.

Looks like a good fit to me too, Gregor! Just not for Eleven. I think he is defective :)

All added. I think it's just a weird mood thing sometimes so I'm good with giving him another shot. It's been so long I can't even remember what it was I disliked about his writing to begin with.

Seriously. I thought that was a typo.

message 34: by Bill (new)

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments I thought 1301 was a pretty good number. Kasia smoked me. I don't even want to know what it would be if I added all of the freebies I picked up over the past couple years.

You were right twice. 1301 was a good number and Kasia smoked your ass. I'm not sure how the rules work on all that.

The guy is really hung up on this book, he wrote a quasi racist "review" of it in 2013 admitting that he didn't read more than 20 minutes of it and immediately jumps on anyone who posts any positive reviews... talk about stamina lol.

I haven't read Siren (though I know others who didn't care for it) or The 13th, but I enjoyed Covenant as well as the sequel (the name of which escapes me at the moment), so hopefully that'll be the one for you :-).
