Maggie | 32 comments Recently I have been following The Book Club -a monthly TV show aired in Australia where a panel of guests sit with the host, Jennifer Byrne, to discuss a book. I am curious if others thought that a show similar to this format would do well if aired in the US? If so, who would you like to see host it?

There is Book TV on C-Span 2 on the weekends. Of course, they only cover nonfiction books.

There are so many people who could do this, but my first thought was Jon Stewart - but he is soooooo good with nonfiction.

It might be interesting to have an author interview another author - make it musical chairs...after being interviewed, move to the interviewee chair.

There's always Ann or Michael.

I totally agree! Love Jon Stewart.

In France there is a show called La Grande Librairie (The Big Bookshop) that is a roundtable of 3-4 authors and a moderator and in each episode they feature an indie bookstore. Of course it is French (available on TV5 Monde here in the US or online), but occasionally they have authors who write in English.
