Fantasy Buddy Reads discussion

Hello everyone! I am quite new here, but I would like to ask for your help.

Back when I was younger I read this fantasy novel or online story that I cannot remember the name of! It is quite irritating.

The plot goes somewhere along the line of this:

Soldier/Knight in a fantasy setting is part of a group of sorts that are raiding a village. Their task is to kill everyone but he cannot bring himself to kill this one girl. Girl and knight/Soldier flee to join up with some sort of resistance to take down the king, led by the deposed princess.

That may or may not be everything I remember.

Do you remember what the cover looked like or any of the characters names?
Any names at all, doesn't have to be main characters.

Or maybe a town or country in the book?
Is it Arthurian type?
Or a modern day fantasy, set it a certain time, like sci-fi fantasy or the like?
What year did you read it, roughly?
Do you remember the authors name by chance?
First or last name?

I read a lot, that's why I am asking so many questions lol.
I may be able to help you figure this out.
Or maybe with more info, some of the avid readers here can figure it out.

I feel your pain lol
It is so frustrating trying to recall a book you liked and can't remember much about it other than you really liked it lol.
I did that with a book called "A Wrinkle in Time".
I read it when I was young and could not remember the name to save my life.
Then I was talking to a friend about physics, and he said "You know, kind of like a wrinkle in time effect".
I screamed and jumped up and said "That's the book !!"
Needless to say he gave me that squinty sideways look ...... ;)

yes, cover art would definitely help. and time read. :) It doesn't sound like one I've read yet, but I'm sure with all the smarty pants' in this group we can pin it down.
