Rebecca | 225 comments I'm in a reading funk where I just can't find anything good to read. :( I need recommendations for some really good books. The series must be finished. I hate waiting for the next book. And I prefer the series have the same main characters throughout the book. I'm open to pretty much anything at this point. Some of my favs are Fever, Vampire Academy, Vampire Huntress, The Hollows, Rylee Adamson, Mercy Thompson, and Riley Jenson. I love kickass heroines as you can see. Instant love has been irritating me lately. I just stopped reading Ancient Magic because of this. Thanks in advance!

Timelord Iain I see you've started Kate Daniels and liked it... 9 of 10 books are out in that series and I really like it, too... you should continue...

Written in Red is another great series... the series isn't OVER, but the Meg Corbyn storyline ended with the recently released book 5...

I liked Some Girls Bite for the characters more than the stories, but the series ended a few months ago and you seem to like vampires...

It's hard to think of series that are over... most are ongoing, or PNR with different characters every book... You could read the last Night Huntress book, and there's a bunch of side books about Mencheres/Vlad/etc...

I also have one male lead series, 6 of 7 books released... Greek mythology and Arthurian legend with a lot of magic: Crimes Against Magic

Hope some of this helps...

RavensScar | 20 comments Christine Warren the others series. Each book can be read as a standalone.

Darkyn series by Lynn Viehl

The Dark Swan series by Richelle Mead

Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead

Alien huntress series by Gena Showalter if you like aliens. It's really good in my opinion.

Sabina Kane series by Jaye Wells

The Paracole Protectorate series by Gail Carriger. Steampunk series with werewolves, vampires etc.

Aisling Grey series by Katie MacAlister. This series is about dragons and it's really funny.

Jaz Parks series by Jennifer Rardin

Arcadia Bell series by Jenn Bennett

Megan Chase series by Stacia Kane.

Hope you'll like some of them 😊

RavensScar | 20 comments @Iain I totally agree on Anne Bishops the other series and the Chicagoland series. They're both awesome 😊

Timelord Iain I'm a big fan of Gail Carriger... wasn't sure you wanted steampunk... Parasol Protectorate done... as is the Finishing School series... Custard Protocol is in progress, altho it seems to be shifting from Prudence to the brother/sister friends now with book 3-4...

There are also a number of PnR novellas in progress for side characters from Parasol Protectorate and Finishing School... everything is connected...

Josie Jaffrey (josiejaffrey) | 56 comments I was a big fan of the Parasol Protectorate series and really enjoyed Finishing School, but am finding the Custard Protocol books a bit dull and ill-conceived by comparison.

What did you think, Iain?

RavensScar | 20 comments Forgot to mention these booka in my previous post

The hidden legacy series by Ilona Andrews. Last book in series will be published soon.

The Immortal empire series by Kate Locke. Yes another steampunk pnr series. But this one and the Parasole protectorate are really good series.

The Gardella vampire Chronicles by Colleen Gleason if you like historical pnr/fantasy.

The bloodhound files by D.D. Barant.

Timelord Iain Overall, I loved Finishing School all the way through... Parasol Protectorate varied, especially the later books... and I might have been pretty forgiving of any shortcomings in the Custard Protocol books, as I tend to be with audiobooks I don't outright hate...

I really like the were-cat with the different airship rules... pretty ambivalent to the rakshasa and the were-monkeys... the misunderstandings between the generations might have been a bit much in Imprudence...

If there's one thing that will get me to quit an audiobook series, or not start it to begin with, its lack of narrator continuity... I liked the first 4 Ministry of Peculiar Occurrences books, but I haven't listened to the 5th one because the authors got rid of the narrator and read it themselves... and I haven't heard good things...

I also like the novellas she's been doing

Josie Jaffrey (josiejaffrey) | 56 comments I haven't tried those yet but will do, thanks. I'm really picky about narrators so tend to read books rather than listen to them.

Thanks for the suggestions! Do you think the Others ended in a good spot with the last book? Did the storyline feel complete?

I read a few books in the Chicagoland Vampires series and then they started to get boring so I gave up on the series. Even the Vampire Huntress started to get boring. I hate when authors beat the series to death before they end it.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've read a few of those. I'll have to check out the others. :)

Timelord Iain The 5th Others book felt like an epilogue to me... many of the plot elements wrapped up with book 4 actually...
