I think the more complete one should be chosen because people will find her then not matter what they search forno idea for the sorting, sorry.
I'd say Riva, Tilde Arcelli. It is the most complete name of the two variants she uses. And international cataloguing rules say to use (sort on) the name she is best known under, which in both cases is Riva.
How about someone who is a nutritionist?Some books are published under Jennifer Koslo PhD RD CSSD, Jennifer Koslo RD, Jennifer Koslo PhD RD, Jennifer Koslo RD CSSD. There is also an older book listed for just plain Jennifer Koslo, Nutrition Now: Interactive Learning Guide, possibly the same person before the advanced degree.
Should these be combined or just have links on each that show as pen names kind of thing?

I tried to merge a duplicate volume on the first author profile (Kono Subarashii Sekai Ni Shukufuku Wo!/Gifting the Wonderful World with Explosions!) to the one on the original author profile but found that I couldn't.
Merged author profiles , I'll leave someone else to merge /combine appropriate editions

Her name is Tilde Arcelli, "Riva" is her husband's name. By a Google search, it seems that she never (or almost never) uses her own name (Tilde Arcelli), she is more known as Tilde Arcelli Riva and sometimes as Tilde Riva (just the married name).
The Italian National Library Service privileges the form "Tilde Riva"

Not Tilde Arcelli, I guess, that is never used although it's her "real" name.
Tilde Arcelli Riva, which is more complete? If so, the "sort by author" should be "Arcelli Riva, Tilde" or "Riva, Tilde Arcelli"?
