Seriously though, it's a great resource, because I'm forever having trouble figuring out which is the first in a series etc.

I noticed you put CL Wilson down as "unappealing". It is more fantasy than anything else, but are you still going to read them?

Opps! I thought I deleted all my notes to myself before I posted - guess I missed one. Unappealing means I read a blurb and it doesn't sound like my kind of thing, but I might get around to it someday - especially if I hear something good about it. If I'd left all my notes on the list, you'd see at least four or five series that I read a few chapters of the first book and disliked it so much I either couldn't go on, or barly finished the first book and am not excited about the second. So, from a practical standpoint, I probably won't read a lot of this list - I just like having lots of options. Some of the authors I've been slow to appreciate are Kelly Armstrong (she kills too many characters and has too much suspense for me - I'm a wus. Great online short stories though.), Lori Handeland (don't know why - maybe it's just a slow first book), Kim Harrison (first book is non-stop action, like a testosterone flick - yuck! no romance), and Christine Feehan (Dark series seems interesting, but I've been slow to warm up to it. Shadow Game was painful to read - only got a couple chapters into it.) So those are some highlights from my self-censoring.

I think there's a bit of a discussion here somewhere about C.L. Wilson.

I have the first Kim Harrison, I just bought it the other week, and because it was in the Horror section (with the Anita Blake books), I'm not expecting much on the romance side.

I've read the first five or six Feehan books - they tend to be more or less the same, so it's hard to remember! They have their moments, but my problem with them is the writing. Still, they're very intense and sometimes you feel like that, so I might read more.

I love the lists! Does anyone know how Sherrilyn Kenyon's B.A.D. series should be ordered? It looks like some of the books have duplicate stories in them...I've only read a few of them and didn't care for them, but like to get them ordered correctly on the site.

Hey, that's a pretty thorough list. Thanks for sharing (and I like the notes too). ;) To your list I would definitely add Shana Abe's historical shifters (drawing room dragons, I call them, lol), starting with The Smoke Thief, and more shifter goodness with Christina Dodd's contemporary Darkness Chosen series.
