Thanks, but the order history shows the book that was wrongly delivered. Strange I know. Furthermore, I had ordered the wrongly delivered book before on Amazon and still have the first copy. I don't know what bug caused this. I don't remember the exact author name or title b/c it was one of those books that was recommended by their algorithms and I bought it spur of the moment b/c of the byline.

The cover was colorful broken into a few hexagonal shapes. It was primarily about American society.

Could it be a book by Amy Goodman?
Or, memory being notoriously tricky, perhaps one of your assumptions is slightly erroneous and searching categories of books will jog your memory.
On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century is the one that immediately comes to mind, but it's a male author. It came out this year and was widely promoted.
These are not hexagonal shapes but they are female authors, newish releases, and came up in "readers also bought" when I looked at the book @11:
